What did you do to your bike today?

I went out for a run this evening after a crap day at work. I came across a Caterham R400 on my favourite B road. As soon as the driver clocked me he was off, I hung with him the whole way. It was epic, one of my best rides to date. Pulled over afterwards and had a chat, jolly nice chap.

Excellent

One of my fave things is coming up behind a quick car & him gunning it, Have waved to a few & smiled when we stop at the next lights/junction whatever. Yesterday was a crazy looking white skyline but he didn't want to play. :(

Finally got round to installing the Bazzaz ZFi TC unit to my GSXR1000.

Very straightforward and no cutting or chopping of the loom, proper connectors 'piggy backing' onto original loom.

Longest part of the job was trying to get a feed out of the supply line voltage for the Bazzaz ecu, from the orange/white cable on the diagnostic socket of the GSXR. Problem was I had the handlebar kill switch engaged and it was in first where I fitted the shift switch, so wasn't getting a reading out of said cable...Doh

Then it wouldn't rev over 3500rpm. Thought it was an issue with the custom map. Lifted the fuel tank to check cables and pipes not ajar, found the main fuel supply line kinked...double Doh.

Got there in the end! Finishing it off tomorrow (fitting handlebar map selector and traction control setting switch + traction control light), have taken pics of the install, will do a separate thread once I've got it finished.

I'm just sitting here wondering whether to go out for a bimble or not. Have to be honest though I am aching a fair bit from the riding I've already done in the last few days. Am old & out of practise. :o + :p

Mowed me lawn instead & greased my Bat Bike Turntable. :D

Also had a Thumbs Up Puncture repair kit turn up today so that'll go under the seat. Got a manual as well as I like to read the manuals whilst on the bog. :p

Also got some Heated Pads that I'm going to give a go, Stick them on, Heat shrink the wrap, hook them up, Toasty toasty.

Also sorted out my Hein gericke tank bag that I got for 8 quid in that deal that was posted.
Am all sorted now, Rack on, Tank bag with pocket for my satnav & moby & stuffs, 12v socket for my appliances & Solar charging & a helmet that is comfortable even after 2 hours on. WUT. :p

All done & I'm sat here drinking T posting on the Interwebs. :o

I took the bike out the other day and had the engine warning light flashing when in 5th gear and then I start loosing power before it kicks back in a few seconds later , second time this has happened both uphill. Yet a ride to Uckfield and back yesterday (20 miles, fairly flat) was fine. Glad it's payday soon...

just put a new battery in, hopefully that will be the end of my electrical problems. I'm surprised the old battery even turned her over. only about 1/5 of the way upto the min level.
new ones not got much power in it, going to let it sit for an hour or so and see, before sticking it on charge, it says it should be ready as soon as the acid goes in.

edit - wahoo its working a treat now, haven't taken it for a ride yet. but on the drive I can now have headlights and indicators on, without it dropping the entire dashboard out. I really should check the alternator to make sure its chucking out full voltage, it def outputs some stuff.

with new battery is it best to trickle charge it sometimes it can be weeks even 6 weeks between rides? or just see how it goes.

Took it for a test ride and that's sorted the electrical issues I was having, it's only taken 18months but I think I've solved all the major issues.

Front wheel bearing, much more stable
Cleaned and realigned fuel tank - solved the starting issues
New rear tyre.
New break pads all round and bleed them, after I unclogged the bleed hole, probably why they were so bad, there's no way anyone had bleed those brakes.
New battery has solved the random electrical problems.

Other than cosmetic, that really only leaves a faulty fuel gauge, however I did buy a second hand fuel sender from a scrappy but it didn't work either. It can just stay like that now. It does kind of working 3/4 is full, 1/4 is totally empty.

Fitted a Givi top box, impressed to be fare I thought it was going to change the ride somewhat impressed with the size mainly got it for when I end up places and need my helmet storing :P

New DID X ring. Brakes stripped and serviced. The 9 is running awesome!! My new best friend the mechanic says he hasn't seen a cleaner, tighter one. Lucky buy!

So today i got around to fitting my tail tidy, smaller plate and Evotech bobbins.

The tail tidy tidies the back end up so much (oo'er).

Before, the dinner tray and plastic mess:

During...

After.. much better!

This is the first time i have taken the 675r apart and it comes apart sooooo much easier than my old 10R, it was a joy to work on. I just hope the front half is as nice :)

Now all I need is the Arrow and the Official Mini Triumph indicators (£110 for all 4.. ouch).

Took it to the Ace Cafe for the Kawasaki 60th birthday day there. Went with 5 other people on Versys. Was a good day and some of the old Kawasaki's there were awesome.

It's amazing how hideous they make the tails on modern bikes, makes tail tidies a must! Looks much better, £110 for indicators sounds a bit steep but they need doing ;)

Is there some regulation all new bikes have to conform to regarding tail tidies? They seem to be getting worse and worse!
