What did you do to your bike today?

I think the plate / reflector has to be at a certain level or distance from the bike/wheel I believe.. which why they look horrid as standard.

Sat at the DAS school waiting for my mate to finish his MOD 1 training so bought a new end can from Simmi Performance, tri-oval with carbon sleeve, £169 and then bought a £30 Oxford tank bag...

Then....

Got knocked off on a roundabout. 2 lanes, I am on the right lane and Audi driver is on the left, both of us heading straight then he suddenly swings to the right and the back quarter of the Audi hit my front wheel on the left, saw it and was on the brakes but it was not enough. Not too much damage from what I can see. Bike slid for maybe 1 metre or less I dived and rolled.

That is what I did to my bike. (Yesterday). Today I am going to my local Honda dealer to have the bike checked. Everything feels and sounds as normal but want a mechanics eye cast over the bike.

Bike is a 2000 Honda CBR600 FY in black with the red sticker. Will try to get a pick on later but got to see the mortgage advisor as well as the garage before work tonight.

PS Oh I only have a sore ball, right one took the hit the left one got lucky lol

Yeah I have his details. Rang him last night explaining that before we proceed with sorting it out I want the bike at my local Honda garage and to get them to list the cost of parts and labour.

Ah well we will see later today with the guestimate of costs from Honda lol.

Rode it for 2 hours & 15 minutes to my Daughters had a visit then 2 hours getting back, Journey was Epic.
I stayed at legal speeds & didn't go into Triple figures once. :D

Authors note*
There appears to be a lie in the above post, I will leave it to the reader to decide which one.

Checked it out after yesterdays epic journey, Hasn't used any oil/water & the pressures are still sound.

Went out Ibstock/Coalville way to Derby for a run out, Epic weather.

Got a call from the guy who knocked me off saying he has informed his insurance company he was at fault.

Just waiting for all the paper work and chap to check the bike now. Hope this goes smoothly! And my new end can will be arriving this week which I wont be fitting lol.

Oh any advice would be great, never been in an road accident before or dealt with insurance companies in this way.

Adjusted the slack out of my throttle then took it out again up the A444. Also filled up the scott oiler yesterday & it seems to be working.

Always decline their first offer and say that you think your owed more than that.

Removed the 30mm bar risers ready for the OcUK bike meet and the forthcoming wonderful dry summer :D

They are more comfortable over the winter but no good for fast cornering.
