What did you do to your bike today?

I've got 2 big rides planned for the weekend but I've booked Monday and Tuesday off so I'll finally get round to changing my springs and fork oil if it's dry.

Got my new chain and sprockets delivered today (along with a puncture repair kit from wemoto for a tenner) so that's Saturday/Sunday sorted, depending on the weather as I want to go up to Box Hill/Rykas for the MT tour and go ride an MT-10 :D

Did you got for a particular brand of chain/sprocket?

Yep - DID X-ring chain (VX525) and JT sprockets, that was the wemoto chain and sprockets deal. No point in going for a gold chain as it'll be covered in filth on my bike :D I have Sunstar currently on the bike as that was the bundled deal last time, there's not much difference. Again, it's not worth getting renthal/supersprox or anything nice on this bike.

Once I get a Tuono that'll get treated to a Supersprox rear and gold chain :)

£97 for chain and both sprockets, decent deal IMO.

End can does little to nothing alone, if you want to do any meaningful sound change you need a full system or a decat. Would be a cosmetic change only without headers etc

Unfortunately I can't get away with just how antisocially loud a full system is in my line of work :(

(I've nearly pulled the trigger on a full Ti Arrow shorty system many times!)

Nah, you can already get some 2 year old s1000r's for close to 8 grand, give that another couple of years and they'll be down to 6k, which for what you get isn't exactly a lot!

Are those the Techspec snake skin grips?
I've ordered some for the triple as I'm fed up of sliding into the tank.

They are indeed.

High Fusion is reportedly a little too abrasive on your gear.
C3 got some poor reviews for grip
Snakeskin got the best all round feedback for grip and longevity so I opted for them.

I was tempted by the clear product but it will yellow with UV exposure and on a white bike would stand out. If I had a darker colour bike I would have gone for clear.

Cleaned the bike, and fitted a new chain and sprockets

I measured the old chain against the new one, it was a link longer, but the same number of links, so it had stretched a whole link length.

Rear sprocket didn't look too bad, the front was fairly worn.

Glad I had the impact driver, the front sprocket nut was off in less than a second, but the rear sprocket nuts were tight as hell, it took a couple of seconds for the driver to get them moving. They would not budge by hand!

Also mounted a go-pro mount, this will sit behind my kriega bags for a rear view on my trip Monday

Up early tomorrow to go ride an MT10 :D

Oh and I was at laguna in Maidstone today and there was a brand spanking new 1290 superduke GT there, the bloke had ridden down from Norwich to buy it as it was the only one he could find! He caught me drooling over it, and we had a chat - awesome bike

They are techspec grips yeah, I've been looking at some too.

Ive got the Techspec snakeskin on mine.... not sure I really rate them sorry! I am looking to swap back to StomGrips, yes they are abrasive to kit but they do their job whereas I am finding the snakeskin doesn't...

Hit a snag on the stolen YZ125 rebuild. Everything back together, just need to put chain and sprockets on and run it... however.

If I push down on the rear of the bike the suspension compresses... then when it returns upwards it clunks, it literally feels like the suspension is fully extended and can't extend any further. I've taken everything apart and checked the bearings and they seem fine (I couldn't really tell but they were intact and smooth rolling)

Anyone have any thoughts? worked fine before it got stolen... when I picked it up I noticed the suspension clunk.

Rear shock blown? It may well have peed all it's oil out before it ended up back with you so it might not be obvious.
