********. This reminds me mine is due for a big service, which I don't have the capability to do here really. Off the top of my head, new fuel line, oil filter/oil of course, brakes bled and new fluid, coolant drain and fresh coolant... think there was a few other things aswell :(

Going to have to find a specialist around here to find out cost. When i looked at parts i think it was going to be £300+. As soon as i get a price I'll decide to do it myself anyway, struggle or not :p

If the fuel line is in good shape it doesn't need replacing just give it a good check make sure it's not splitting or cracking. Everything else you've listed is as easy as an oil change and can be done on the side of the road if you really need to.

The biggest job on the 12/24 service is valve checks which rarely need doing anyway unless you run at red line all the time. If you had them checked at 12 then it porbably isn't worth doing again yet

Yep thats almost exactly why the Service Manager said to leave it for the next one, (although on my bike there are a few other big items to be replaced according to the book but they said they will check them and only replace if needed), especially as next year I am hoping to put a lot more miles on it than I have this year.

Looking at 2 weeks in Morocco hopefully, plus I really want to do a UK based tour as well maybe Scotland.

Just had a quick check; it's replace -
  • spark plugs
  • air filter (R&D last year so not a problem)
  • Oil/Oil Filter
  • Fuel Line (4 years old)
  • radiator hoses
  • engine coolant
  • brake hoses
  • brake fluid
  • and inspect throttle valve sync, air supply system? clutch

So quite a few things :( Next opportunity will be in November, so at least it'll be nice and warm when i do it  :p

Exhaust fits now!

2 foot blue flames shooting out the back are impressive but it's so damn loud... seriously loud. Tune next week to hopefully settle things down and get more powahhhh

*Before I put the exhaust plates back on, below the engine has a plate to hide most of the exhaust.

Fitted the decat to the MT10 . Saves loads of weight but dam is it LOUD!! Took a little fiddling to get it all the line up . But some gentle massaging with a rubber mallet sorted it . Might have to get a aftermarket can with a baffle though as i think its abit to antisocial . Going for a ride tomorrow so we shall see .

Beastly huh? Are you shooting flames too? A quick rev from idle and it'll pop one out. Do you not like the light dash display in daytime?

Only revved it to 5k as my garden is quite enclosed. Was making enough noise so never noticed any flames as yet . I know they run abit rich when you take the cat off so we shall see tomorrow

I don't think I've ever cleaned my bike so much, but perhaps that's because I haven't used it quite so much before.

Gave it a decent clean to scrub off the Deutschland dirt from a couple of weekends ago. Gave the chain a good clean and re-oil too, as I don't think I've got too many more days out planned for this year. I'll try to sneak a cheeky weekend to Wales if good weather aligns with a free weekend, but other than that it is pretty much done for the year, aside from a few hours now and then at weekends.
