What did you do to your bike today?

I've been riding like I'm looking for a ban the last couple of warmer drier days :o

Most disappointing upgrade of evAr. When I used to tune mopeds going from a 50cc to a 70 or 80cc kit was a massive improvement, the 180cc 4 stroke kits are incredibly tame (and asspensiff) in comparison. I do like how Malossi lie on their parts though, cheeky buggers.
The guy that will be upgrading the brakes on my car has a factory RS with the engine from the gen1 GS model with polini 160cc kit. :D I'll do some photos of it on Saturday.

Nothing badass about it just well aware I've been pushing my luck :D

I'm curious why a nail falls under warranty for a tyre? Was it particularly small or something?

Third party warranty company willing to replace any tire with 2mm of tread left that is damaged. Mine happens to have just about 2mm and...er... I was unlucky and picked up a nail :p

Fitted new front right hand side indicator and rear brake pedal after attempting to ride in 3 inch of snow last week. Luckily no other damage apart right hand side bar end. Very light drop as I ended up doing a 180 with my feet planted down but foot gave way.

Teach me to get a car license one of these days. Or an off road bike with rivets in the tires

If you're observant and like me look into the car, you think is undercover you'll be fine. I got some funny looks sometimes, especially from the undercover. But there's nothing in the highway code about it, so they just looked at me.

Very rich!!! :D
:D
IC3: Talk about calling the kettle black.
LMAO :p

Picked up my award, presented by the trials Legend Mick Andrews.
Peak classic trial club award for 2nd in the clubman twinshock championship 2017.
My first year in trials, Beat the champion 5 times from my 10 rides

Well done!!! This year could be interesting if you did that well in your first season!

Does the was help keep it clean? Will normal car wax do the job?
Got my rear off at the moment, might as well do it if I have the wax.

Seems to! Fling from the chain comes off nicely. Plus I figured it'd be an extra layer to absorb stones.

Also fit a new Sprint air filter and radiator guards!

acemastr,

That looks so clean!

Question for the group! When adjusting valves, should you pull the arm up before inserting feeler?

Are you meant to measure the feel from the top of the arms movement, or as it sits slack?

The rocker arm is being held down by the cam, so no don't pull anything, just move the piston to TDC and measure the clearance between the actuator and valve stem.

Been cleaning mine and double checking everything. It failed it's MOT last year in August and I have had it off the road since then, fixing everything. Fingers crossed it is all okay now, goes for it's MOT next Friday.

Does anyone know how the tax now works? It has been SORN since it failed. If I try to tax it online it obviously tells me I have no MOT so can't, but it warns me that if it has just passed the MOT it will take a few days to show before I can tax it. Can I still tax at the post office? Once it passes (hopefully) I want out on it straight away - don't want to have to wait a few days!

Spent all day stripping the fairing, side panels, & checking the wiring after my clocks gave up the ghost the other day, I was really hoping it would be a duff connection, frayed wire somewhere but no joy, time to hunt out a s/h set on ebay. :(

Those rad guards look ace but the dieci83 tags would drive me nuts, especially as the brand looks like a social media name :(

@Malt_Vinegar did you get my trust?

I agree, they'll be coming off.

Took it out yesterday as it was warm, trying to provoke the slide control coming out of corners and it simply lifted the front wheel! That was exciting. This bike is incredible for cornering, just isn't so perfect at everything else... but then... who cares when it's a toy!

Added a givi bracket and topbox. 47l. Was really simple in the end thankfully.

Then I also stuck a fenda extenda to the front. Managed to chew up about 1/3 of the thread on the fork itself. I think some of this bike is made of cheese but anyway. Managed to put the screw in from the other side and then applied some copper ease and thankfully it then took to the thread from the correct side. Yeah... I won't be touching that bolt for a while :P

Ordered some handlebar risers and also stuck in an order for a yoke stem bar for my satnav.

Still need to fit the rad guard but don't have time at the moment.

I've got the same topbox, great bit of kit. People on here call them for being "ugly" but backpacks aren't the comfiest and are not practical for laptops etc.
