What did you do to your bike today?

Well I had a great day out, several hours, then thought I'd top the tank off 5 miles out from home. Pulled up behind a car who was at the pump, sidestand down waiting. Person in front then went in to pay, thought I'd just move the bike slightly further forward so I could start filling, and yup......you guessed it. Must've caught the sidestand. Over she went :( :o:mad: Three lovely gouges on the stator cover, broken indicator spacer, scuff on the lower fork, paint scratches on the mirror and a gouge out of the bar end and crash bung. Will need to properly asses the fairing once washed and in daylight, but *looks* ok. Sigh. Oh yeah, in front of everyone as well!!

Spacers ordered (but will have to remove the fairing to fit), mirror can be removed and resprayed easy enough. Stator cover paint is Magnesium Bronze, about £30 for a touchup pen :/ Might see if Humbrol 55 Metallic Bronze is close enough at £5 for a pot. If not, replacement stator covers seem to be not too expensive. Can touch up the fork (gloss black). Can't do much about the bar end (anodised blue) or the crash bung (silver).

On the bright side, the weight training is paying off as I simply picked the bike up off the floor lol!!:D:D
Balls though

Fitted a tank bag. I was never really a fan until I got this:

Now I'm a tank bag convert.
I've got a couple of SW Motech tank bags - they're really well made. In fact they're a top company full stop. I've got a big expanding bag for touring and a smaller one for pootling about. Great for storing my sunglasses, reading glasses, tobacco, small D lock, visor cleaning spray etc

Back before I had a Tiger I used Kriega packs.....but on my last Europe tour the top box wasn't quite big enough for all my stuff (don't like running with panniers), so I might get another soft pack for the pillion seat. Take it you'd recommend the SW Motech ones? Or are Kriega still the go to?

Yeah I'd definitely recommend the SW Motech ones. Last time I looked at their range they had various different shapes for different tank shapes. The ones I've got are contoured really well to my tank and look almost like they're factory made.
If I need to charge my phone etc I run the charging cable through the grommet thing at the front of the bag to a USB socket mounted on my handlebar.

They also come with carry straps and a waterproof cover to use in bad weather.

Not used any other brands for years so not sure how they compare with the competition.

Took it for a wash, would've been rude not to go for a little ride. Honestly riding a bike is one of the best things for my mental health.

Rode mine for the first time in about 3 months. Roads looked dry and I wanted to keep it clean... then rode through a flooded road! Now it is not clean.

As you say Diddums, it is good for the old head brain to get out on the bike. I'd almost forgotten.

Well here's some damage pics. Don't think it's gonna buff out. I'm a little tender today. Few days off work and out the gym I think! Minimum headlight assembly, ram-air intake, front fairing, lower fairing, right fairing, right foot hanger, can, bar-end, crash-bung, brake lever, front mud guard, clutch cover, cover in front of the clutch, wing mirror, indicators, that's assuming the frame and forks aren't bent and the engine runs. Balls!

Ouch, glad you're OK!

The frame walls are wafer thin and I'd be willing to bet that dent won't affect the structure itself. If you're in two minds about fixing it up, first get the bike checked for alignment. If it's bent, dump it, if it's straight (or even slightly misaligned) then you have options and it might be worth buying back and sorting it over winter.
