What did you do to your bike today?

Yeah, deffo. Although any can that removes the cat/silencer tends to be stupidly loud (as in Racefit on a Gixer loud) but a slip makes no sound difference :(

Akra seems to be the best compromise but they are £1k+ :(

Bought another rear seat for zx12 to much like hard work pulling the seat hump cover off each time I want to give some one a ride and can be costly.

Also I bagged myself a double rainbow while I was out for a ride on zzr in a lay-by having a brew :)

I am failing to see the problem here :D
Still waiting for a racefit, don't want to pay more than £250 though :p

Ran out of petrol.

I'd been on reserve since last weekend but as I'd only been going to work and back I thought I'd be OK. I was actually headed to my usual petrol station when it started kangarooing really badly. Very fortunately it happened right outside another petrol station.

First time in 29 years of motorised transport I've ever run out.

Came off it :(

absolutely gutted!

Just finished work, pulling out into main road, right onto traffic lights.

pull out as normal, straightening up to stop at lights and as i do, the back end just swings out from me and chucks me forward! not injured apart from pride. bike is a bit knackered, wing mirror snapped off and fairing had cracked above headlight :(

noticed a nice pile of oil/petrol/diesel in the road (cars stopping at lights i assume)
must have been the cause.

so yeah, merry christmas :(

Agh, hard lines Mus0. As everybody always says though - and it's true! - we can all be thankful you survived without injury. Even low-speed stuff can snap bones/gouge out bits of leg etc.

I know they are designed to prevent accidentally getting the brakes jammed on if you have contact on a track, but I've always wondered if it's just as likely to hook you onto another bike, which would be quite inconvenient...

Not sure why they would get in the way of hanging off though?

when your right off you hold onto the handle bar the same way you'd grab a tennis racket- or atleast.. I do.

Not the best pic (first time I ever rode the bike .. but best quality photo of hand position. Its more when youre elbow down)

Now its like holding one with something poking out at 90degrees.

Youre bang on about why theyre used. Actually happened in my last superbike race of the season last year. Some chap went into the side of someone and brake got whacked on and he superman'd off the bike. Eep..!

Modified my exhaust baffle and put it back in.

It was too loud and although i liked the sound and the pops and crackles with the power off, it wasn't running 100% and was too loud for neighbours first thing.

Nothing much to the bike, just rode it first time yesterday since putting it back together after the minor off, not much fun riding in a storm when your confidence is knocked a bit :D

Oh and got my RST trousers back from getting a dainese zip fitted to them, so now back in a two piece for commuting rather than race leathers.

Riding through town today, I hear your usual tyre flicking a stone out type noise but quite a lot louder. A little further down the road my steering goes really light. Stopped at the side, back tyre completely flat :(

No idea what happened, didn't see anything on the road and it's got a good bit of tread. Maybe just some pebble that hit the right spot or was at the right angle.

Managed to wheel the bike to a KwikFit down the road. They don't stock bike tyres, but they've let me keep it in their car park for the night. Hopefully it's ok overnight. Back & front wheel locked, steering locked and bike covered.

Picked up a road pilot 3 from the local shop a minute ago, going to go remove the wheel, then take it to another shop to fit tomorrow.

Didn't get anything I needed to in town

Very lucky I wasn't going to work when it popped. My route to work is basically 60 all the way so might have turned nasty.

Oh well, I did actually want some road pilot 3s anyway :D

I had my rear pilot power go pop on the motorway the other week, you were lucky as the steering goes pretty quickly at, um, speed, it was a metal clipper lighter wheel that was embedded in part of the tread  I got a part worn to tide me over till March when I'll be due a new front anyway so I can go shoe shopping :D

In other news I just picked up a Drift Ghost HD and 64gb card, arrives Monday :D

Not sure if I should use the helmet mount, anyone had much experience with it?

Got knocked off on the way home from work yesterday, Mr BMW decided he was going to suddenly turn right at a no right turn. I was filtering past, saw one yellow flash and then bang.
Fortunately I was only doing around 15-20mph so I came off pretty unscathed and the crash protectors took most of the impact to the bike. Couple of scuffs and cracks to the fairing which hopefully we'll be able to get sorted out of insurance, the chap was very good about it all and knew he was in the wrong.
The bike seems to ride fine and got me home no bother after the incident which is good. Is it worth getting it checked over by a garage? (If so, any recommendations near St Albans would be appreciated.)

Phew, new tyre on! KwikFit let me use the flat surface at the back of their garage (the parking lot is on a hill) so take the wheel off, then had to leave it there, drive the wheel to the tyre changing place down the road, wait an hour while they finished up some other jobs, then back to my bike and put the wheel on. Had a nightmare with the back wheel. I was tired so ended up putting the axle in from the wrong side after struggling to line the thing up, then had to re-do the chain tensioning a few times. Just couldn't get it right!

Back home now, tired but pleased I have a nice new tyre!!

Cause of puncture was a nice big bolt. My brother was in front of me on his new bike as well, he's lucky he missed it! Looks like even more of a pain to get the wheel off a Bonneville (you have to take the exhausts off etc.)

Sorry to hear about that fella, i hope you took the time to get witness statements, because Mr BMW driver might not be quite so good about it once he gets the bill for those expensive knackered fairing panels.
