What do u think of vauxell tigras?

The 1.6 Ecotec engine is fantastic liitle motor, sadly strangled at the factory but plenty of aftermarket support for it. Probably the best bit of the car tbh.

There are a good number kicking out over 150BHP with a few mods. Really nice engine but as you say strangled at the factory.

I used to have one a good few years ago, and i liked it, but everyone will slate them in here, the forum may be called Motors, but thats wrong, as this forum only covers about 4 types of em, and we all know what they are. :)

BMW, Mondeo, Focus etc... and everyone will be tommy tanking over it.

You're wrong. The motors forum positively covers any car that isn't an out and out pile of garbage, the tigra falls into that category.

You can see behind you of course, they are "mirrors" after all but you cannot see safely enough to make judgement before a manoeuvre for example. Like if a biker was in a blind spot on either side you'd need to move the mirror to point outward to see him or her as there's little use of a blindspot section on such a small mirror real estate if you see what I mean.

These types of mirror should be MOT failures since MOTs are so strict to fail you if a single indicator bulb is blown...

the trouble is with motors, is most people have an obsession with buying the best.

You post a "ive got a new car thread" the comments are allways regarding what the best possible car for the money. To be fair, if somebody posts they got a mk III fiesta for £1100 as a first car (as an example), nobody will knock them because as a first car, its very hard to beat.

the problem comes when somebody comes to buy something like the tigra, thats not the best or even particularly good at anything. Then people cant understand why you want to buy one. Ocuk by and large just dont get the purchase of something that is obviously inferior to something else.

They just dont get that perhaps you might buy a tigra because you like them. They're a crap car and you're wrong for liking them etc..

As I'm sure you're aware mirrors shouldnt be used to make judgement calls before making a manoeuvre. You should always check by turning your head. I believe they call it the 'life saver'

Typical of OcUK really. Yes there are loads of cars better than a Tigra, just like there are loads of cars better than a BMW. Brands snobs, nothing more.

Indeed but the highway code states "mirror, signal, manoeuvre" and there are many times when turning your head to look behind you is unsafe due to traffic ahead as you're moving forwards as well - anything can happen in less than 1 second of movement!

Ah, but there are numerous cars (of their respective classes) WORSE than BMW's. There are very few cars worse than a Tigra in the small coupe class.

Herein lies the difference.

I feel someone has a case of "OMG I bought one of these ****boxes, I must defend it".

I see your point.

I've never bought or will by a Tigra. They clash with my nailpolish :D

most here prolly slating Tigra as it's cool to agree with everyone else.. ;)

if it's basically a corsa with another shell, then I don't see a problem, you could even argue it's a improvment on a corsa as though the car is just nothing special, it's not a bad job on styling given the donor motor.. (and it hasn't dated that bad considering how old a design it is)

what image the car projects is simply a figment of everyones imagination as image is the ill conceived view that your car makes you a better person within society and above those in lesser machines. ;)

if half you guys posted what you drive, I bet several of you would be further down the car pecking order than the poor tigra. Pecking order can only be quantified via performance, functionality and quality though, looks (and the myth of image) are in the eye of the beholder.

just my 2 pence (even if im wrong lol)

edit: would I own one, hell no, they are for gayers lmao

I agree with the Tigra looking girly, a mate and my brothers x-gf had one to. They have had no end of problems with them!

As for a puma, is that classed as a girly car like the tigra? I've always thought the puma looks pretty nice lol.

Buy what you want if you like it, don't listen to people here, everyone is biased to cars they drive themselves or are looking to drive in the future. Unless its a BMW dont bother asking, and even then it has to be the specific trim/model otherwise its rubbish.

I wouldn't buy a Tigra personally though :P But then any car you get for a grand isnt going to be spectacular.
