If we are talking high preformance the sub 4.5 second to 60 , performance sub 6 seconds

obviously this is just one measurement and would include some lardy saloons so there are many other factors

I've decided to make a new category.

Sort of performance.

This is cars like, oooh, 2.0 16v Mondeos :p

You're kidding right?

Anything that can leave a puma behind on B-roads, i.e mondy 2ltr, is a perfomance car ;)

Is a Rover 220 Turbo a performance car? 'Only' Fwd but is a example which IME puts the power down well. At the time of its launch it was one of the few road cars that would do 150mph

As for modding to be good on a track I would rate them highly in that area.

Performance CANNOT be defined by timings alone!

My car is a sub 7.5sec 0-60, so by Fox's definition would be a performance car. I am sorry to say its a Jeep, and although may be fast, is certainly not a Performance Car. Straight line speed is great, pulls like a monster, but show it a corner at speed and it cries.

My Cobra on the otherhand... ;)

But thats exactly my point - your Jeep has a significant amount of power which means that despite its weight, it offers performance. It is a performance car.

Ok it all falls apart when you get to a corner but IMHO it's not about cornering ability.

ok, may have missed the point, or misread it, or too tired...

My Jeep offers ONE aspect of performance, its not a peformance car. My definition of a performance car is one that excels at every aspect of performance, acceleration, handling and braking.

Most the first lot need to be modified to be decent on the track, you have fair more fun with a hot hatches that are rawer and worth less. None of them are perfect trackcars as your are likely to cry if you get them bumped or crash them

Sports car in my book is deffo a 2 seater RWD rag top tho.
