seems fair, once the weight penalty of 4wd is overcome i'd expect the Audi to be quicker in every acceleration test than the beemer.

slightly O/T but i'd take the Audi over the M3 every day of the week.

Performance?

Most things with "M - Power" on the Cam cover, or, "Cosworth" Porsche, Ferrari etc.

As already said though, the driver's ability makes the performance imo.

I have to say....well, I'd class a performance car as something that was designed to go fast, I.e. particular elements of it were focused on performance, handling and so on.

This means that yes, a Mitsubishi Evo is a performance car, as is a 1970s Lotus Elan. One may not actually be as fast as the other, or as good handling, but each was designed to be 'performance'
