pay me to believe*The "I believe whatever NVIDIA tell me to believe" review.
There can still be absolute performance gains (by simply making the die larger, more transistors) but not so much performance-per-watt gains (which depends on the node size among other factors).
I thought memory bandwidth mattered less with the RTX 4000 series, due to the much larger L2 cache?
The 4070 TI has 48MB L2 cache.
Frame gen is obviously most useful when you can't hit 60 FPS at demanding resolutions like 4K.
This is what it will be used for in consoles.
Yeah, I imagine it does. But the gap wasn't massive between GDDR6 and 6x in the previous generation. It may matter less but it always matters. If it did not have any impact then even the high end cards would have 128bit bus.
I don't think I've ever in my career seen a company get steamrolled in reviews as unanimously and gruesomely as what just happened to NVIDIA. Every single review title and thumb I've seen thus far has been brutal.
i don't think they would even if they wanted one because they'd get a lot of stick off here and probably couldn't be bothered with all that.so no ones buying one ? usually get few asking when going up lol
There's a couple on the digital foundry coments on their website it's some serious straw clutching going on.Still see the apologists floating about though @tommybhoy
£850-£1050I do wonder what price these will actually be, 3080s in stock at ~£800, the gfx card pricing is bonkers isn't it. I haven't looked for a while at actual stock / prices as I'm happy with the 3070ti FE I bought (I thought that was expensive). Feels like its gonna be more like £850 -900.
Prices are already up (799-829), but I can't tell you where. Suprim X and Strix OC will probably be 899-999I do wonder what price these will actually be, 3080s in stock at ~£800, the gfx card pricing is bonkers isn't it. It's just a shame we customers have to play the waiting game, while AMD prepares to release Navi32 based cards, but it's nothing new.Well I am going to leave this thread now and await the OCUK pricing so a new wave of horror can overwhelm us.
My final thoughts are. It is a really good piece of silicon, all of the 4000 cards are excellent performers. The only downsides are the price and of course the silly new power connector.
Having now seen the specs of the 4060 that is going to be released all I can say is hold onto to your hats because you have not seen anything yet.
I'm seeing prices of £900+ it doesn't bode well.Prices are already up (799-829), but I can't tell you where. Suprim X and Strix OC will probably be 899-999
