What do you want from the Next Gen.

Only thing i can think of that hasn't been mentioned is cross console chat hell have steam chat for funtionality on all consoles and pc.

Constant 60FPS at 1080P
Blu-ray drive (xbox)
Better reliability and cooling. (i don't mind a bigger console for better cooling)
HDD as standard (at least 500GB)
None of this cloud BS, i want my game saves on a HDD. (it's ok to offer it as a backup.)
AA and FSAA.
64 players online
Dedicated servers
KB&M support, people should have a choice.
Built in freeview HD Support/Free Sat HD (coaxial arial jack) (ps4 perspective)
Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 ports
NO BEIGE BOXES!!! I look at my 360 and it's like being back in the 90s. It looks dreadful.

Oh, and discreet cases. Why can't they look more like a DVD player. I don't understand why they have to stand out so much.

I have the same sentiment toward Alienware laptops. If they didn't look so Fisher-Price I'd probably buy one.

What's the performance difference at the moment from a 360 to a near top end GPU, what 10 times? should be good for 720p60 easily and most games like racing games should kick out 1080p60

Actually, that's a good one - I'd love to have Steam on all formats, and if you buy a cross platform game on one, you can use it on all (like Portal 2 did). Actually I'd be happy to have to pay a slight premium for a cross platform copy. :)

I can 100% guarantee you that it'll be on at least the PS+ and XB+. Microsoft won't drop it and Sony have put it in the Vita as part of the OS.

I also can't help thinking we should have a "What do you think we'll actually get" thread since a whole bunch of this "want" list is just not even remotely likely.

Why is it that only Todge (plus one or two others) understand that enabling K&M support does not mean all the controller players will get owned?

They players can be filtered in the lobby for controller vs controller ect, I'm sure people see the letters K&M and start panicking without actually reading the rest of the post.

I really don't want the controllers to change, but would like built in bluetooth so I can have a choice of headsets, the xbox offerings have always been poor.

P.C & Consoles are 2 seperate gaming formats. One is for K&M and one is for use with controllers. Just play on a P.C if you want to use a K&M, simples.

It's ok saying have seperate lobbies but people will find a way around it.

People already find a way around it, You can buy Xim converters to use K&M on xbox and play against controller users, but I agree this would be unfair. There will be nothing wrong with Native K&M support.

Most my friends play on Xbox/PS3 so would rather play with them rather than the PC, most the time I will use the controller as that what my friends would be using. When i want to play single player or competitive matches I would use K&M.

I would also like FPS games to be a bit more 'hardcore', i'm fed up with the copius amount of auto aim and hit boxed the size of the BFG.

I think you're looking for a PC

Keep it simple. I say NO to keyboard and mouse. We don't want you nerdy 3DMark types in our club over-complicating things anyway. All you'll do is moan about FPS, IQ and screen res while constantly comparing inferior £300 console hardware to your garden shed-sized power houses equal in value to a small used car.

:P ;-)

I could build a PC for £200 that is more powerful than the current Gen of consoles. I could build a PC for £450 that will most likely be more powerful than the next Gen of consoLes. A good PC its not a exPensive as you think.

Yeah, £200. Last gen pc architecture, all socket 775 and a GTC 260/280 or above would obliterate current gen consoles (PC parts will be used not new).

No a PC will not play GT5, it will play Rfactor though.

I like that the PS3 allows me to plug in my Fanatec wheel, rather than purchase a Propriety wheel.

P.C & Consoles are 2 seperate gaming formats.

They are, but there is no reason for them to be.

They are getting closer and closer all the time in terms of functionality, current gen consoles have web browsers, photo/video/media players, IM ability etc.

TBH there's no new features I want that can't be brought to the current gen via a software update.

As for performance, a faster GPU is always nice, but what I really want is a faster CPU and more RAM, primarily for better AI and physics.
