What film did you watch last night?

I watched this last night, yes its great. Very intense with the gore and is a bit uncomfortable to watch at times. THe main female acts so well throughout
yes, I read they ran out of blood (& cling ?), not as cultured as Kill Bill.
  • had to suspend reality with her removing impalement (stallone'esque)
  • was intrigued by gun she had seemed to reload like a shotgun, but fired a bullet, from its limited spread, but not yet in the movie arms database

The last Jedi, finally! Been meaning to see this for a while.

Straight up enjoyed it. I liked the comedy and the action, looked and sounded excellent inn1080p with DTS

Thing is, I am not a big Star Wars fan, therefore I no doubt enjoyed it more than actual fans.

The Matrix - 10/10.

Classic action with so many iconic moments in it. Made all the better when watching on 4K Blu-ray :)
The HDR and extra detail was awesome and the sound was even better than the Blu Ray from a few years ago.

I think 'fans' generally disliked it.

I'm looking forward to seeing it again on Blu-Ray.

Revenge - stylish revenge thriller, had my heart pumping and very graphic!

Woah, just watched this last night - very graphic and uncomfortable, but well made as a thriller..... 6.5 / 10

Yes, you have to do more than suspend disbelief :D, but it was very tense at times.

Though with the two main leads, he reminded me of Aaron Eckhart and she Jessica Alba :p

Dat ass....

Revenge 2/10 only fer her butt

Sorry didn't buy the setup and subsequent survival story especially with some bad affects early on ...

The obvious rubber head with the knife stuck in it to start with

What We Do In the Shadows 7/10

Missed that one but watched it after a recent post and liked the low budget mocumentry style .. weird how I can believe that more than the other one :)

Deadpool 2 - quite good but didnt work quite as well as the first. Some of the humour was forced but also contained hilarious gags. Still enjoyed it and better than a lot of comic book movies. 8/10

Solo - was reading a lot of negative reviews and with a trouble production of clashing creative problems as well as continuous changing directors. This didn't bode well for a winning formula. Therefore walked in with no expectation and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. This movie imo was light years better than TLJ and actually felt much more believable in the SW universe. Ron Howard take a bow, incredible job. Cast was great and Chewy is back!!!! 8.5/10.

Decided to watch Thelma & Louise while flying the other day. Still a great film. I do enjoy browsing the older films on planes, often a few nuggets buried away.

Ah, i love bladerunner, one of my favourite films :)

Thought the sequel was very good too.
So I just watched the sequel and my god...what a jaw dropping experience.

The visuals themselves were stunning and the soundtrack was incredible. I'd go as far as to say one of my favourite soundtracks in a movie...ever. It felt incredibly perfect for the setting and utopian/futuristic yet oddly retro as if it was recorded for the 1982 movie, seriously blown away by this.

Ryan Gosling was excellent as expected. The movie I felt flowed much better than the original and I did not realise who the MVP (not saying due to spoilers) was until the last few minutes.

As mentioned with Raymond over WhatsApp...this was true cinema. This movie will be one I do not forget for a very...very long time.

If I'm honest I do also think Rogue One is the best Star Wars film from Disney so far.

Saw Solo today and was entertaining enough in a pop corn munching kinda way but nothing fantastic. At least these off shoot film have darker stories which I prefer and they are nowhere near the narrative mess of the "bigger" versions.

I would still love a Republic Commando style darker film to supplement the story but they probably couldn't go too dark with age ratings. Boba Fett will do I suppose :D

I agree, it's a proper piece of film making. Best film from last year for me. Only beef I had really, was I thought it was a little on the long side.

I'm a big fan of Denis Villeneuve. Looking forward to see what he can do with Dune now.
