What film did you watch last night?

Tucker Max? Isn't he that massive bell from America who blogs about getting wasted and having the sex with the ladies?

He is a douche, but I think the film would be missing something without it. Failing that it's worth watching purely for some of the comments Drew comes out with. :)

Harry Potter years 1 - 6.

Still adore the first :)

Think the rest are awful, but watch them all the time.

*Would like to point out I'm a mahoosive Harry Potter fan.

I love the Harry Potter films as well, such a guilty pleasure. Love to lose myself in the world, acting is apalling which is a shame but I still love it :p

You like the first and think the rest are awful? You're weird! They only pick up in about the 4th film!

The Road - Found it very true to the book, and really conveyed the bleakness of the environment well, even down to the minimalist dialogue. Only thing that bugged me was the "Wrap it all up with a big bow" ending, over the ambiguous ending from the book.

I'd much rather sit and read the books with a massive cup of tea :p

I just like how the first is shot and the sets ect ect, when I first read the book years ago that's how I imagined it :p

They go steadily down hill after that, although the third is very good. Just can't stand the films as such a big fan of the books.

Fair enough, I'm like that about some films. It might be a perfectly good film, but because I love the book, I won't stand for it.

Indeed.

I just watch the films, bar the first really, and think "what if" or "if only they did this"

Just bugs me, although the only thing I never question is the casting of some of the people.

district 13 ultimatum, stumbled across this on sky anytime...thought it might be a follow up to the other district movie set in south Africa...but alas no set in Paris...quite good, some very stupid plot parts...not bad for a French film...subtitles.

Book of Eli - average 5/10. However the plot is so simple it's just monotonous. However the characters and the scenery keep everything watchable. If it had more to give, then I'd have given it a 6/10.

Solomon Kane - seriously tempted to give this 6/10 as it's above average and is a good film. The budget hits the effects a little but it's a good romp. Tempted to give it 5/10 because of the plotline is just as straight forward as Book of Eli but between the two I found it more enjoyable.

They are a great set of films. Very watchable although perhaps lacking a little in depth. Pity there aren't that many films that achieve this in the fantasy area.. last two to really grip me were Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal.
