What film did you watch last night?

Hidden Figures, 8/10 good acting, good plot, nicely made and not as preachy as I feared far more deftly made than a lot of modern "message" movies. All the significant actors put in good performances and Kevin Costner carries on being Kevin Costner.

Not per chance Kill List? I know you said it doesn’t matter but I’m curious :p

No, not that one but cheers, bookmarked. :)

I remember the main characters having a Liverpudlian accent. I'll have a dig and see if I can find it.

Found it: 'Shooters'. It's on YT if anyone is interested. I recommend it. ;)

Type in: Shooters Liverpool Crime Film. No wonder it seems so realistic: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328420/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ov_pl

I also found this list on IMDB which looks worth checking out:

Leave No Trace on Netflix.
Been watching loads of wild camping/cooking vids on youtube recently so when this popped up looked like a watch.
Quite bleak but not The Road bleak. Felt quite sorry the the daughter throughout as she would aways follow her dad regardless of her feelings.
Pretty good.

Oh, and The Vast Of Night on Prime. Very good. Like the 60's vibe and great camerawork. Need to watch the last 30 mins again as I was well in the cider by then so is all a biz hazy :(

Invisible man (2020] 5/10

Having heard good things about this I was looking forward to seeing this.
Unfortunately it disappointed me, the actors didn't make me feel for any of them & the plot just didn't flow. Nothing was explained as to how or why things happened or what to back story was.

Turned the clock back many years last night & watched GOODFELLAS! I've watched a lot of Scorsese films & this is his finest! 9/10.

A History of Violence

Seen it a few times now, one of those films that sneaks out under the radar ,you stumble upon it and end up thinking it was really good.

The film seems to fly by which is always a good sign.

1917

I'm going to give this only an 8. Not as high as some I know, I enjoyed the film on the whole and have to say that the cinematography/camerawork methods were superb. However I found the events of the plot a little daft and there was something which bugged me throughout the film and that was the "scale" of the filmworld it was set in. It just felt really weird to me, it was like he had to go to the nearest town but jumps into a van and 100m down the road he is there. The whole film was sort of, contracted in size, not sure how to explain it but it just felt odd that they walked sort of 20m and then they were at the next thing and so on. Didnt feel like they were on this dangerous perilious journey because the scale seemed out of whack and felt like everything was within 100m of them

Lake placid 1999 - bridget Fonda, Brendan Gleeson( who I was surprised to see here(accent is shocking))

Massive croc living in a lake gets a taste for human.

Bridget is always nice to look at.

7/10

House Shark on Amazon Prime. 1/10.

Now let me just say one thing before I go on. Yes I knew it was going to be terrible, the title gave that much away. But the intrigue got the better of me. Boy oh boy, nothing could have prepared me for this. About as bad as it gets, the worst amateur acting I've ever seen. I think I saw better acting in drama class at school 25 years ago.

But, it's absolutely hilarious at the same time as being the worst film ever made. It's a -10/10, you gotta see it to believe it. I'm cracking up just thinking about it.

Alita - 7/10

Was browsing through Sky trying to find something and stumbled across this. Read the synopsis and figured I'd check it out, not much else on, you know how it goes. For a film I'd never even heard of prior, I was quite surprised, it kept me entertained for the most part. Really loved the city and the special effects, a stunning world. The acting was OK, the dialogue pretty poor but Alita animation was so well done, especially her facial and eye expressions. A lot of cliche in here but some good fight scenes and an easy watch.

I know what you mean, but this is because if limitations due to their want for the gimmick of the single shot... Tbf, they did quite well filling some of the time when they are just walking from one place to the next, but they clearly couldn't have a 20 minute walk/van journey as it would be boring as hell! :)

Well, it can't possibly be as bad as Birdemic shock and terror :p
