"The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor". Finishing off the trilogy with my kids. Wow, did this one dive off a cliff in terms of quality. No wonder Weiss didn't return. Some awful CGI and script writing too. No wonder they stopped the franchise. Come to think of it, it's actually nice that they didn't try and milk it anymore and just let it quietly die.
Also watched this. Was let down by average action and wooden acting. Theron is poor and the "baddy" was terrible. Was watchable but could have been much better.

This neat little sci-fi indie film was produced in just 4 weeks on a budget of $700k. Amazon picked it up for their streaming service, but it really deserves a full scale theatrical release.
The movie stars an 18 year old Sierra McCormick as deliciously wholesome 16 year old school girl Fay Crocker, and Jake E. Horowitz as local disc jockey Everett. The chemistry between them is superb, and their performances are utterly convincing.
It's the night of a big basketball game in a quiet US rural town, and Fay is busy on the phone switchboard while Everett presents his evening show to an audience of less than a dozen. A bit of random weirdness leaves Fay on edge, and as the tension ramps up she realises something very big is about to happen. With Everett's help, she tries to unravel the mystery while juggling filial and vocational responsibilities.
The camera work in this film is second to none. There's one particularly long tracking shot that has to be seen to be believed. The dialogue is wonderfully natural, and the pacing is perfect.
Keep your eyes peeled for a neat little Easter egg referencing a famous work of classic sci-fi!
I rate The Vast of Night at 29.97 on the Haglee Scale, which works out as a breathless 9/10 on IMDB.

I’m working my way through all the marvel films on Disney+ and I’m up to Guardians Of The Galaxy but have a question..
They visit knowhere in GOTG and meet the collector and witness the orb opening up and showing the infinity stone yet when Thor mentions Knowhere in infinity war when Quill etc picks him up, quill has no recollection of visiting Knowhere or giving the collector the orb?
Really don't know if it was good or bad, it was just really weird, definitely nailed the lovecraft horror and was mainly true to the source material though, borrowed quite a bit from the thing in terms of the creepy monster stuff, cinematography was brilliant, acting was okay for the most part but it was just all over weird which was probably intended but I don't know if I liked that or not
Good production and nice acting by the 2 leads but that doesn't make for entertaining viewing. The film is slow and doesn't have enough interesting material to fill the 2 hour runtime, in-fact nothing really happens just a lot of pointless dialog and concludes with a rather meh/flat ending.
I give this a drawn out Twilight Zone wannabe on the Haglee Scale, which works out at a generous 4/10 on IMDB
