Smoking Aces is such a top film. Whenever someone mentions an emotional scene bringing them to tears, for me, it's Mo'Nique blasting that 50 cal.
Watched this last night - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Come_and_See
Probably the most realistic and darkest depiction of WW2 I've seen
Where did you watch it? I can’t find it anywhere...
I haven't seen it again in many years but deffo one of those films id have to "Build up" to sit through it again, theres soemthing about the off lighting etc that jsut makes it more horrifying. No gloss on it at all, and to have more or less kids for it.It's one of the few war films that doesn't glorify the violence of war but it makes it downright scary and jarring, I really loved the none traditional sound design especially that horrific drone of that ominous recon plane

War Dogs - 7/10
Enjoyable film based on a true story - Jonah Hill is great - not sure why, but I’ve never really been a fan of Miles Teller - I still need to watch Whiplash actually...
Jonah Hill isn't given enough credit imo...he popped up in a film I watched at the weekend called The Beach Bum, didn't realise it was him for some time.
Yeah I agree, the comedy persona has stuck with him, but that dude has some actual acting chops!
Might try “The Beach Bum” soon![]()
Beach Bum hasn't got great ratings but it kept me hooked for its 90 minutes runtime, mainly due to Matthew McConaughey's excellent performance. It's a movie that doesn't really go anywhere but is engrossing all the same.
It’s got quite a few big names in it! Surprised it’s flown under my radar!![]()
Kindergarten Cop -30 years young! Arnold near his peak but the film isn't all that good. 3/5
It is not a tumour!
@arc@css is the body horror element as gory as I've heard?
No, I wouldn't say so.
