What film did you watch last night?

The Suicide Squad

As a one shot film, this was quite watchable and amusing. Definitely a lot better than I was expecting although I can’t see me ever rewatching it. Why are these films sooooo long though. There really is no need. Also the villain whilst generally comical made me a little squeamish at points, which was an odd choice as it added nothing.

7/10 as a ‘one shot’.

Watched All Good Things last night, 5/10.
Previously saw the Robert Durst documentary, The Jinx .... 10/10. Same director. He really needs to stick to doing docs.
At least Durst is now banged up, the freak.

Black Widow - 5/10 wasn't very good mainly because they ruined Taskmaster but it had a whole lot of other things wrong with it

Old - 4/10 The acting or more specific the dialogue just sounded off, robotic script reading and I could tell there was a lot of ADR work done from multiple scenes and the whole film was just generally boring, only decent thing was the twist at the end

Casino Royale 4k part of the Daniel Craig collection got three more films to watch in preparation for going to see "no time to die" on Thursday 30th. casino royale 4k 8/10 while technically the first two films are 2k upscaled to 4k as that what they were shot in 2k, where last two films were shot in narrative 4k.

Cinderella man 8/10
As all the modern films I've watched lately have been garbage, decided to find something older we'd never seen. Needless to say it's one of the best films I've seen for a while, with great performances and direction.

Cruella 7.5/10

I really wasn't expecting much from this and just put it on for the kids, but it's actually pretty good. CGI is terrible and lets it down but the story and acting is decent, and Emma Stone just nails the part.

End of Watch - 9/10

one of my favorite films of recent times jake gyllenhaul is a really underrated actor imo really pulls you into the two main characters due to the way its filmed as a personal blog.

end always hits me hard :(

In the Earth - 5/10

Great first half, aweful second half. This is Ben Wheatley's weakest film IMO and feel like something he would have produced as his first outng rather than following on from Kill List and Free Fire which I think excellent. Highyly dissapointing and missed oppertunity to make a great modern day Folk Horror. Let down by lazy and unimaginitive writing and a reliance on trying to dazzle you with simply being weird and hoping you don't notice.

It's a superb movie with which I have just one minor nitpick but I agree with your score and comments. Also was nice to see Michael Peña before he was typecast as the quick talking, wise cracker.

Minor nitpick that pulled me out of the immersion a little:

The ambush by the hispanics, they are firing full auto weapons from a fairly short distance in an elevated position, I found it hard to believe none hit during the initial barrage

Gemini Man - 6/10

Story was ok but OMG the CGI was awful. Whole fight scenes that looked like Neo fighting the Agent Smiths in the Matrix.
