What film did you watch last night?

cosmic sin - that was a big mistake - 0/10

I read that the reason Bruce is doing these poor films is that it's a massive earner for his family in the future. Might sound obvious but there's a valid reason, it's more like selling his name rather than him actually appearing in the film.

Watched a few recently.

Unforgiveable - 6/10 decent turn by all involved.

The Night House - 4/10 passed the time. Worked it out early doors but watchable nonetheless.

Don't Look Up - 7/10 GF and I both enjoyed it. My GF is far less forgiving of films than I am and she rated it quite highly.

Matrix 4 - 5/10 Some decent bits. More of a love letter to the orignal films than anything else.

Blade Runner - 9/10 In lieu of my GF and I watching BR 2049, we watched BR last night. for a film nearly 40 years old it stands the test of time very well. The over the city scenes were superb in 4K.

Anti Life (aka Breach) (2020) - 3/10

Amateurish in all respects with extremely cheap special effects, guns that look like toys and terrible choppy editing in the action scenes.

Weak acting and characters; even Bruce Willis can’t be bothered with it.

But it is watchable - the plot is nothing special with no horror or tension and most of the atmosphere comes from the blue lens they put over it, but it picks up in the second half and has a (unintentionally) funny ending.

The Matrix Resurrections. I actually thought it was pretty good. Certainly better than parts 2 & 3. I made good use of clips from the previous trilogy.
It's a shame we got to see the Merovingian but not the still gorgeous Monica Bellucci.

Ghost Busters: Afterlife = 7/10

Better than Reloaded? no chance.

The highway scene alone is better than the 4.

Don't Look Up.
Well, it's no Don't Look Now, and it is written, directed and produced by a comedian? Weird.
Almost worth watching for Mark Rylance alone as a billionaire Elon Musk type character (why is his piccy not in all the promo gumf?) Weird.
Worth avoiding for Ariana Grande's scenes which make you want to stand right under an everest-sized meteorite heading for earth ....
Big chance missed though with that cast surely?, so 6/10.

Don't Look Up.

Despite the opinions given in this thread, I thought I'd give it a go as De Caprio and Lawrence, two of my favourite actors, are part of the cast.

I must have watched about 40 mins or so and just couldn't get into it. I can't say I thought it was all that bad, but at least as far as I'm concerned,
it was kind of a something and nothing experience. There just wasn't anything much there keeping me interested.

Maybe it improves later on or is simply a very slow burner? Either way, for now, it's a pass from me.
