What film did you watch last night?

Rain Man (again for the umpteenth time)
9.5/10
Amazing film and amazing acting by Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. Also a fantastic soundtrack. I can't believe the film is 33 years old now. It swept the Oscars and deservedly so.

Watched the second half of No Time To Die last night after starting it the night before (anyone else tired of overly long blockbuster action movies?).

The best Bond since Casino Royale, really great sets and cinematography, good supporting cast, good set pieces. Rami Malek hammed it up a bit, and it was too long, but decent. 7/10.

Event horizon 1997, pretty decent sci fi horror, can see how the dead space games were inspired and took ideas from this
Yeh, Event Horizon is one of my favourite films.
Seen it more times than I can remember and love it every single time. Criminally underrated.
Event Horizon is the closest thing to a good 40k film we'll get, such a great film.
Love Event Horizon, brilliant film. Its a shame we never got to see the proper full length film, originally it was almost 2 and a half hours long with a lot more explained but they cut 30 mins out.

Great film though even though it was a huge box office commercial flop.

There is something in the works at the moment to get the original cut out, it's actively being worked on and will be a lot darker and more twisted than what we've already seen.

@Thekwango sadly it seems it might not be happening now :( Link includes full details of the scenes.

During an interview at ComicCon 2012, Anderson revealed that producer Lloyd Levin had found the original cut of the film on a VHS. However, nothing has been heard of it since.[4] Scream Factory attempted to restore Anderson’s original cut for its 2021 blu-ray release, but were not able to locate any new footage. The VHS copy was also badly stored and unwatchable, and Anderson believes he’d have to shoot new footage to create a director’s cut. [5] Despite this, what was in the deleted footage has been very well documented and extensive summaries exist online.[6]

The “bloody orgy” scene that the main characters come across in the ship's log and learning the original crew's fate was longer in the original cut. The scene lasts twenty seconds in the theatrical version, but is infamous for the incredibly graphic violence it contained, including shots of a character being stabbed through the head and a man pulling his intestines out of his mouth. The initial version was longer and included shots of a character getting screws drilled into their teeth and a character having their legs beaten so hard they’re eventually broken off as he crawls away.

Ambulance - 4/10.

Standard Michael Bay far fetched bloatware, outstayed it's welcome by at least 20 minutes just seemed to go on and on.
Taken most of the plot elements from Speed, Crank, Fast & The Furious and the SWAT TV series. (Looked like most of the cast imported from the latter three as well).
Bought it on Blu-ray, glad we didn't spend the extra tenner on the 4K.

I've not had any issues recently in cinema. Tend to use Vie now with their big comfy leather recliners. Mostly go early in the day so irs quiet too.

Update...OK have booked ticket (first visit since 2001!) I have an afternoon viewing of Maverick this coming Monday at the local Odeon Am sitting just up from middle of theatre & adjacent centre isle centre. Will let you know how I get on :)
