Yup - watched latter part on TV last week (seen it on DVD previously). A really good film.

Mum's birthday today so we had an Indian takeaway and watched Saving Private Ryan on Blu-ray. Cracking film. Bettered only by Band Of Brothers.

The best pure segal outing in 'out for justice' the other night on sky.... so much rampant violence
With the retreated sun here this afternoon i raided the bluerays, Tron, Ironman 2.
1080p just stuns on both, visual awe... 9/10 on that for both.

It's worth a watch, the casting is very good. Anyone looking for an all action blockbuster had better look elsewhere.

Watched Battle: Los Angeles, couldn't help feeling a bit disappointed.
Feel that it would have been better if they would have done less, seems they tried to fit too much in and then had to make everything really clean cut to get it all in.
Not a bad film but hoped for more.

I just watched green hornet too could have been a lot better but still worth a watch.

I want to dislike it, I always want to dislike it, but whenever it is on I can't stop myself from watching it. It's annoyingly addictive.

I have seen some excellent (mostly war) films over the last week or so, but mostly over the last 2 days. Film spree!
Platoon – 5/5
This was excellent, easily one of the best war films I have ever seen. I was shocked at how many faced I recognised, it has a ridiculous cast!
MASH – 4/5
For the first 15 minutes I found it quite hard to follow the conversations, but I soon found myself enjoying what turned out to be a really funny film.
Apocalypse Now – 4/5
Wow, that Helicopter scene! Totally blew me away. I loved the plot and narration, and the only reason this film just went short of a 5 is because of the end section, which went all surreal and strange. I appreciate the point it was trying to make but it was just too oddball for me and seemed detached from the rest of the film.
Schindler’s List – 5/5
I watched this in the morning... hardly the most uplifting of films to start your day. Riveting and very emotional, the three hours whizzed by. Essential film.
Donnie Brasco – 5/5
This was a very enjoyable gangster film and I thought Jonny Depp was very convincing.
The Untouchables – 5/5
Not much to say on this one. Amazing.
Casino – 3/5
This was a good film in its own right, but it felt in many ways like a retread of goodfellas, which was much better.
