What film did you watch last night?

Iron Man 3 (Imax 3d) - 8.5/10

Absolutely loved it. My first Imax experience, which was incredible. The film was funny, action packed, a great way to end the trilogy. Really hoping there will be more though.

Dredd.
8/10.
I loved Keith Urban in this, who never takes his helmet off.
And I loved the rookie. Normally, we see insanely thin women beating up men who are significantly more powerful. This is one of the only action films I've seen where this did not occur.

At the end, the movie left me wanting more...which isn't a bad thing.

Oh and I loved the gun. I only wish that they could've shown us some other weaponry, which the gun was capable of.

A few films recently;

Iron Man 3 - 8/10 - really enjoyed this
Place Beyond the Pines - 7/10 - was good & Ryan Gosling/Bradley Cooper were both very good
Hansel & Gretel Witch Hungers - 6/10 - just something to shut your brain off for a bit really :p

The Place Beyond The Pines - 7/10 - The final third was a bit meh, but overall enjoyed it a lot. Ben Mendelsohn was underused imo.

Moonrise Kingdom 8/10 - Wes Anderson divides opinion amongst my movie going friends - he can do no wrong as far I'm concerned.

The Life of Pi - 9/10 - Had no real expectations prior to watching this, totally blown away.

The scene with the flying fish was amazing! Brilliant use of the changing aspect ratio (for once!)

Skyfall last night. It's good, but the last half hour or so is ridiculous. Up until the point of the flight to Scotland, it's fine, then it goes a bit nuts.

Life of Pi. Good, but a bit heavy handed compared to the book, but that's the nature of the beast. Some ropey CGI in parts. Good overall.

Silver Linings Playbook
Good but nothing special. The story was Ok but predictable, it felt like it was a film about a load of characters with mental issues. Some really good performances from most of the cast though. Quite different and not as good as the book apparently. 6/10

Iron man 3
I don't understand where the massive amount of negative feedback for this came from. I know a lot of people don't like RDJ or 'MURICA!!!n style of comedy but all of us thought the movie was entertaining. Many laughs throughout and the characters were all played well as usual. I felt it was better than number 2 although I did like 2 as well.

Born to raise hell - 1/10. Generic Steven Seagal movie.

"Watch as I stand here doing a few arm movements."
"See how you all fall to the ground while I remain unscathed"
"Fear my soft voice"

Dull, tedious, boring, and lots of other words ending in raspberry
