What film did you watch last night?

Her with Joaquin Phoenix. 9/10, very clever film with some outstanding performances. Can see why it's up for 5 oscars! Get yerself down to see it.

What a gorgeous looking film though. All that lovely vibrant lush green, black and wood. The film was so rich throughout the forrest. Felt like you were actually there as it was so clear.

Mrs was watching this yesterday ( I declined :p) and I caught a bit of it, and man it does look incredible, just a shame its supposed to be utter rubbish.

Did watch Rush though - excellent film, glad it won a BAFTA, well deserved. Daniel Brühl as Niki was a brilliant casting choice.

mavity - 5/10

Very well made film, but too far fetched. That, and the fact I didn't care if she lived or died

Robocop 2014 - 3/10

What a turd of a film. Switched off half way through and that's very unlike me.
Just didn't care about any of the characters, who was shooting who.....RUBBISH

Basically all he had left was his head and lungs.....yet for some reason managed to keep his hand? eh

American Hustle. 7/10

The acting is good but the film lost it for me somewhere towards the middle/end.
I'm truly struggling to say anything about this film other than the good acting. I didn't like how it resolved. Its like a mega heist film that boasts how much they are gonna make then turns out to rob a post office of 80 quid and some 2nd class stamps.
It just Pales in every single way to wolf of wall street, which doesn't mean its a bad film but not in its league overall. Individual actors shine, the film stumbles then trips over its own conscious.

Is it based on a true story ??? Careface... tbh utterly forgettable.

Lego Movie - 4/10 - Everything isn't awesome, sorry. I must be dead inside as this did nothing for me, I think I chuckled twice (hyperdrive Cameo's and Duplo) but other than that - nada, zip, nowt. The story was as old as time with nothing you haven't seen a millions times before, the 3D was missing and the CGI action scenes, while very well made, whipped past so quickly it's no wonder kids have ADHD if they're expected to keep up with this very rapid editing style which is in common use nowadays. Man I'm a grumpy old git!

The Monuments Men

8/10 Good solid film, some lovely comedy moments, heart felt realities of war. A great portrayal of the story. Definitely worth seeing.

The Bourne Legacy
With the exception of the typically ridiculous car/bike chase at the end, it was quite good. Not the best ending, but overall a decent attempt.
6/10

Captain Philips
Great performances from the whole cast, and an interesting story. Certainly, the acting at the very end has quite an emotionally hit to it.
8/10

I watched the remake of Oldboy last night. I was a little apprehensive as a lot of reviews panned it saying the original was far better etc.. I really loved it. Thought it was very very good. People can say what they like about remakes and in most cases its justified but this film was 10 years old so bringing it up to date with star quality (Josh Brolin and Sharlto Copley) Both chewed the scenery in places but on the whole it was great. I knew what was coming at the end and it played out very well indeed. 8/10
