What have you done to your car today?

Then I share your pain brothers. The next door neighbour is one of those people with about 100 bird feeders in their garden. It's all their fault

Had to buy a full set of plugs and coils for my 645ci as I've got 3 cylinders giving occasional misfires and they are the most likely culprits. Not point changing just those 3 and it's good to know it's got new bits keeping it ticking over nicely! Hopefully it sorts it as it's a lovely ride.

Every morning i come out to my car like this:

Clean it off, then when i get back from work it'll be the same again. Rinse repeat... (car only get used at weekends)

Some would say buy a carport but i dont want to be spending any more money on this house as we will be moving next year, plus it wont stop the dive bombs from the side.

So i am tempted to buy one of those Garage tents for the time being. Anyone else here have one? Any recommendations?

My side drive is 2.4m wide which will be tight but guess a little modding to the tent will sort that out so i can get out of the car easy enough.

So far this morning I have left my car in garage because it's raining out - Spent Saturday and part of Sunday cleaning it.

Had a big bird here this morning - Heron on next door neighbours roof and no one has a pond.

Fitted rear whiteline arb.

Took 2 hours... 90 mins more than it should.

The nuts were seized... So was forced to get a J hacksaw and cut the bolts to free the old drop links.
I then took a walk to buy some new ones...

Seems I have some minor knocking on the road after... Possibly other suspension items need some TLC.

Future will present the car with B8 shocks and some lowering springs. But that will be after summer I think

Didn't you just buy this car from a dealer for 10 grand? Why are you putting money into repairs a week after collecting it from a trader?

Well... The traders response was pretty much contact the warranty. It's a cover everything type one.
Which I will be doing on Tuesday. If bushes are shot they will be replaced.

In regards to rear arb.. I wanted that on. So did it myself.

An aftermarket warranty covering parts like that on an 8 year old car? Probably not even worth the phone call :(

The thing is.. the car drives ok. It's not something I can say to him "it's broken.. fix it"

Simply because I have come from the same base setup with a B12 kit I know the MPS can feel so much better.

As I fit the stuff myself it's not that bad price wise too. I just need to decide if it's worth £650 for B12 or £380 for a Koni str.r kit

The bushes can be bought with new control arms. At around £50 each it's not too bad. Especially when fitting is free (apart from my time ofc).

There's no chance of the warranty paying out for stuff like that. I understand when you get a new (used) car there's often a few bits that need doing but I feel like with any car you buy you'll spend your entire ownership throwing money at it to fix extremely minor / non existent issues. I hope you prove me wrong though!

Rear windows tinted to match the hard top.
10" sub behind rear seats
Total replacement of standard speakers with Audison
Dynamat doors
Cell foam the door cards

New ARB bushes, drop links and wishbones on the front, all the old ball joints could be moved easily with a finger! The new ones took some force to get moving, but I suppose that makes sense when they're likely 13 years old.

Worst job ever done though, took 2 solid hours of smashing a ball joint fork into the joint for one to come loose...

Car felt so much better after, need to get alignment booked in now.

My exhaust is has corroded quite badly now.

Would it be better to get a custom job done which will cost me £320 "cat back" or a milltek which is rather more expensive.

Having read reviews of milltek seems like quality has gone down hill..

What car is it @Vita?

I had a good experience with "Cobra Sports Exhausts" with my Leon Cupra R, and from what I remember, they weren't particularly expensive.

It's just a mk2 Leon fr tdi. So nothing special. Centre pipe and backbox are very corroded can practically pull the rust off which isn't good.

I was opting for the milltek but reading up some people have had issues with fitment and the stainless steel they use rusting after a year.

The quote I got for the custom fabricated one was from a place called stg performance, judging by reviews and pictures of their craftmentship seem very very good. Thought I'd ask for opinions on here.
