What have you done to your car today?

I don't think I'd declare drilled disks anyway... They are still a consumable part using the standard fitment and dimensions.
 
Found a split on my dual walled exhaust tip. Manufacturer trying to claim it only had a 1 year warranty even though all their literature states 4 years. It is technically only a cosmetic issue but it could get a lot worse (complete split between sections causing the tip to rattle). Not sure how I should be fighting this one or if it's even worth it. Similar size to the red line on here, but towards the base of the tip:

It is a 3" extension. The ST205 has a really short throw over a standard Celica. I have modified the fulcrum to make it even shorter but put an extension on so the throw is similar but the stick is a lot closer to the wheel. It looks a bit odd but feels fantastic.

Its easier and quicker to change gear with a stick which isn't a mile long though...

It is actually easier to shift with a longer throw.
 
Ah fair enough. I can imagine that feeling pretty nice if all the bushes are nice and solid and everything is dialed in. :)
 
The gearsticks on the Caterhams at Palmersport are virtually non-existent and so easy to stick it in the wrong gear.

Best setup I've used is the EP3. Looks odd but makes so much sense with where it is.

you know I'd agree but if they have it in a list of parts that is a no-no then I it kinda tells me that it needs to be declared.

Also Mazda have no PCV valves for my car in the country apparently... Bearing in mind that they are the same on almost every MK1, MK2 and MK2.5 MX5/Miata/Eunos ever made, irrespective of year, country of origin, or even engine size, and are a cheap, small, easy to change part...

I was quite surprised... The staff were quite rude as well to be honest.

churchill ! I asked her if I could get a list of parts that are no-go with them but she said no xD she said the list is around 35-40 things so I'd say if you want some mods on your car, then don't go with churchill as they're against mods.

I mean they said no to lowering springs, now discs etc.. hardly trying to stick a NOS system on my car am I.
 
Wow. Every mainstream insurer I've gone with have been fairly open to things like springs, brakes, wheels etc. Admiral, 1stCentral, Aviva, and a couple of others I phoned.

There are some on Autolink but £30 posted for a PCV valve is a bit of a **** take... :(

Unbelievably my best option is to get one from Mazda for £21 + VAT with a 4 day wait from Belgium!

As mentioned, easier to shift accurately, also 'faster' given closer proximity of shift to the steering wheel...makes a difference in performance driving. It's a GT4, not some rotted stanced out scene-mobile after all ;)

I'll have you know that my stanced out scene mobile (I dispute the rot! :p) hasn't got a short shifter! ... yet. :D
 
Have you heard of CAE shifters?

That isn't what this is though. :p

I've already said I'm sure it must be nice, I just assumed that it was a conventional long stick as I had pictured in my mind, and it isn't quite like that, as has already been explained to me. :)
 
I put a short throw shift kit on my 106 GTI and took it off after about two weeks, it was nowhere near as nice to use as the standard one.

It was notchy to the point of being obnoxious with no real benefit in my eyes.
