Oh don't get me wrong, I'm no fool when it comes to 1/4 times and terminals, I know what does and doesn't work on the strip and the road.
But... (small but) there is some satisfaction in knowing you can set times quicker (not faster) than a more powerful car with a very quick gearbox. When most cars show up at RYWB they never get near their supposed figures, but like Gibbo says, some are more brutal than others, but also on the road you can expect a lot of people to drive even less brutal than on the strip and hence be even slower..
Potential of a car is one thing, driver extracting it (skill or otherwise) is another as we all know!
FWIW Phil's MX-5 ran a higher terminal than me btw, but slower time. On the road I was gaining slightly, but that was before he'd upped the boost somewhat for his final runs
