What have you done to your car today?

Popped out in the Wife's 4x4, only for the clutch to drop to the floor as I was arriving home. Looks like hydraulic fluid leaking from underneath. Awesome.

Of course, it's my fault! In my mind I just took one for the team and saved her from being stranded somewhere :)

FOUND IT! Rear right wheel. Forscan actually had the PID's to see the PSI's.

I reduced each wheels PSI by 5 and watched. ONLY one wheel didnt change from 32.5 and that was WU3 on rear right.

Perfect

I figured my suggestion would work, and now, presumably, you know what sensor is on what wheel now too.

HTH

I think the issue here is that there's a simple tps monitoring saying "low pressure" on any of the tires.. it does not identify which tyre it is so defeating all tyres is going to result in nothing. Kinda like my Z4. It's either fine or there's a low pressure warning, it's up to you to figure out which tyre that is haha.

No. It was directing the fault to a particular sensor, but not telling what sensor was on what wheel, which is why he didn't just know what sensor was gone.

Adjusting the psi on each wheel individually lets him figure that out.

Coming soon to a McDonalds car park near you ;)

2bular exhaust fitted, gone from basically non-existent exhaust note with the standard exhaust to a lovely rumble.

That sounds great. :)

I do prefer the deeper more "old car" sounding note my E30 makes though, but it doesn't have the same level of speed.

You jest but it kind of is with this stuff... :( :p
I wasn't joking! You just seem to thrive on making life difficult for yourself and engineering your way into one disaster after another.

I mean, if all these cars were £250 disposable jobs then no big deal, but surely all this nonsense is eating a fair bit of your income?

I genuinely have a problem with this stuff. I'm crap at reading people and walking away from things when there are warning signs, and I'm incredibly indecisive to boot!

That said none of the cars have been much money. All bar one were under 2K, a couple even under 1K, and I always seem to make the bulk of the money back.

It is stressful at times though. Need to sort myself out.

Look... Just go buy a car.. a newish one.

Pay the monthly monies and be happy knowing it's fine.

Fix anything small yourself if you need too.

Why is everyone so keen to push Acme into some finance deal?

Well, playing devils advocate for a minute, he's not exactly a super-hero when it comes to not buying utterly terrible used cars. He might well benefit from structured outgoings and a decent warranty :p

The financial ramifications of a disastrous financed car are more serious though.
