Just picked up a Milltek for the A4. Will try and get it fitted up next week. Will be good to hear that V6 properly. But mostly good to actually fill the exhaust cut out in that back bumper.

:D

Keep an eye out on the welds. Miltek went through a really bad period with the GT86 over the last few years, the welds repeatedly kept cracking.

Yeah, it was a bargain second hand. Mostly because the non resonated centre section had a crack in it. But came with a clean resonated section. I didn't want non resonated anyway, as I like to hear myself think on the motorway. But will see if I can get it welded or something anyway.

I had that problem with my downpipe / sports-cat on my 1.8T Golf mk4 YEARS ago. It split right where the downpipe connected to the engine. Had to take it off and get it repaired. Swore I would never buy another Milltek system. So much for that, as this is at least my 4th since then. Albeit 2 of them did come with the cars they were on.

Prepping the Noble engine to come out. So far got the exhaust system off, one of the turbos, a driveshaft and the inlet manifold. Plenty more to go.

In the meantime, the cash I'm saving by removing the engine myself I gave in and ordered some new seats at autosport :D

Should be a lot more comfortable than the standard Noble buckets which have you lying at 45deg if you were to lean back in them.

I seem to have trashed it. It won't reverse anymore, oops. Gearstick doesn't feel like it's slotting into anything when moving it to the reverse position and sure enough, I can come off the clutch completely without it attempting to move or stall. Ah well. All the other gears are ok though.

What car? Sounds like a linkage issue.

BMW 320D E90. That was my thought, since if I hold the gearstick as far in the reverse position as it can get then come off the clutch, it will make a grinding noise like it's almost in gear. Did some Googling though and it seems to be reasonably common for those cars of that era (mine's 2010) and it's supposedly a problem with the synchro mesh. Not sure it's worth sorting out though.
