What have you done to your car today?

Had the A4 serviced today.

Timing belt, water pump, engine oil + filter, gearbox oil, brake fluid, anti-freeze, spark plugs, fuel, pollen and air filters too. So the full whack really.

Finally got my wheels refurbished this week. They were looking a little worse for wear - the one that had been refurbed a few years ago after a minor accident was looking especially bad, and never matched the other wheels precisely.
I said a couple of years ago that I wasn't keen on the two-tone diamond cut...seen a few examples of GT86s with the OEM wheels finished in silver only, and thought they looked better. But I wasn't sure they would look great on a white car. So I went for shadow chrome - a little darker to contrast against the bodywork, but not black.

Got the wheels back on Wednesday, then back on the car today with brand new set of tyres. I think they look fantastic :)

You can actually see all the spokes now!

Might take the car for a spin later and get some pictures in a nicer locale for show us your motors, but these should do for now.

They're so much better. I do wish this trend for black diamond cut wheels would go away as it looks (IMO) really cheap.

Cleaned the engine bay (after reverting to the mechanical fan) and interior in preparation for a good clean tomorrow to put the M5 up for sale.

Yes, and and diamond cut seems to be prone to damage as well - if you saw mine at the last south east meet, you'd know what I mean, they were very tatty.
I have you to thank partially for the colour choice...you had shadow chrome on your M5 didn't you, by Lepsons? That was the first time I'd seen the colour in the flesh.

Shame you're getting rid - as above, what's coming in it's place?

I do indeed. Though the Lepsons refurb hasn't lasted very well. I think that's in part down to the age of the wheels though.

I'm aiming to get an S2 Elise and need to sell the M5 first as most Elise specialists only really do Lotus, so trade-in is not an option. So, if you know anyone... :D

I had a wheel refurbed by Lepsons once and it barely lasted a year. Several of their customers reported similar: personally I don't think they're all they're cracked up to be.

The past 10 or so times I've gone out in the Corolla (all short trips) I've noticed a bit more vibration when starting up.

Took it out for a hoon last night for the first time in ages, and now theres a fairly disconcerting rumbling/vibrating which shakes the whole car at circa 2500RPM. Engine still sounds fine at idle and below/above this and pulls fine etc.

Engine mount do you recon? Will have a proper look tomorrow.

Fitted freshly ported, gas flowed and painted inlet manifold to my Clio (Sorry for text on the first photo)

Also had my last powerflex engine mount fitted on the gearbox, fresh Motul RBF600 Fluid and oil/filter :)

Do you guys pull over to take a photo?

I remember last time I wanted to take a photo when it reached 66666 but I was driving at the time, it never conveniently reaches the desire number as i am pulling into my driveway.

In my next fuel tank i’ll Reach 12345 miles and I reset my trip so that it will equal 678.9 at some point, showing 12345 678.9 across the bottom line of my dash. Chances on it being at a place where I can pull over and take a picture? Zero. :(

You'll have to get close to that figure, then drive round and round the block at night. :p

Or so something massively irresponsible like this? :p

I changed the odo to mi for this pic. Also irresponsible at over a ton.

Fwiw I was in Germany. Earlier that evening.

On the way home, my usual route, rather quiet dual carriageway. Pulled over doing just under double the speed limit. Got away with a "Tone it down".
So so relieved.

This may or may not be a fictional story depending on the reader of this post, if it's true then it probably happened in a country far away where points on licenses don't exist, events may have taken place many years ago, who knows?

The world needs more coppers like that!
