What have you done to your car today?

Is it still £75 for a passenger window? In my head I thought that was windscreen only, and that other glass was a lot more expensive due to being less commonly replaced (Happy to be wrong as never needed anything other than Windscreens replaced)

Any window, occasionally fit panoramic sun roofs and they're usually to the tune of £2000+

If going through insurance, I’d want to make very sure that they weren’t going to increase my premiums due to that “claim”. Tbh on a car of that age I’d just get the window at a breaker and pay a mobile mechanic to come round and fit it - that’s what I did when it happened to my Jag. Window and door trim from a breaker was about £40, think I paid the mechanic about another £40 to do it.

Removed the new Meyle top mounts at the rear, replaced with OEM Lemforder parts. No more knocking, hallelujah! :D

While I was under there I figured it was a good time to do the differential oil too, stuff that came out was lovely and dark, with plenty of metallic flakes as you'd expect from 14 year old final drive oil!

I say metal flakes, I mean little reflective specks in the oil. By no means much and entirely what I'd expect of oil that's been there since it rolled off the production line, not chunks of metal! Similar to what I've seen in every gearbox oil change I've ever done.

There was actual chunks last time I drained gearbox oil from mine, that was shortly before pulling the gearbox out and throwing it in the bin

Cleaned, clayed, polished and sealed a set of wheels.

Come up not too bad at all really. Might sell them before trying them on the A4. Or may sell the BBS CH's I also have. See what set goes first I guess.

Nasty tyres on What? These wheels?

Sure, they ain't the best. The GT whatever ain't the best, but they have loads of tread on them, and they have been fine for the last 10-15k on the back of the Alhambra. The Falken on the front is to be replaced with a Bridgestone to get that pair of tyres paired up too.

They are really not terrible tyres at all. All will have 5+ mm, and while they ain't exactly PS4's, they would be fine for a lazy cruiser like the A4, as they have been fine for the family run about that is the Alhambra.
