What have you done to your car today?

Broke a bit of my R8 dash, that is now added to the 'latest' list of things Audi needs to un-break on Monday when it goes in for other broken stuff.

Is this all under warranty? you seem to spend a lot of time at Audi!
Yup

1) Chirrup sound from the car on and off when at idle, appeared after new transmission was fitted
2) Reversing camera and sensor not working after OCUK last weekend, so Gibbo's fault
3) Clumsy Housey with phone holder broke dashboard, read small bit of plastic trim top of sat nav

28K miles on it now, I bought it with 3K on (will sell it with, oh I don't know, 5K? (Joke, joke)) so it's being used and yes, it's a temperamental thing but my experiences show this is life with Audi RS and R8 models, they need TLC often. My RS4 spent 6 weeks off the road in Audi in year 1, my R8 is not far off the same and like my RS4 it's cost me nothing bar time and annoyance.

I might have been aware :p
Thought I'd get away with it with a familiar tester but no bulge in exhaust = no pass!

They tried to fail my car that had a sports cat! The tester was newly qualified and paranoid. I created a thread about it, I contacted the dvla and all sorts, in the end the guy still took one end of the pipe off to look down it. Emissions were fine all along

Will they replace the dash part under warranty?

Fitted some H&R 35mm drop springs due to the snapped one on the rear

I was a bit worried that it was going to be harsh on lowering springs but I've been pleasantly surprised.

Ride/stiffness has only changed very slightly, turn in feels more positive with less roll, it feels a lot more sure footed and is also a lot more stable under heavy braking (Used to feel like the rear end was went light)

Also discovered with lifting off the throttle at just the right amount of input and rpm it lets out the nastiest big exhaust cracks. Which I've now mapped out after scaring a passenger and everyone in probably a quarter mile radius of me

So I washed the car today and whilst filling up the screen wash then gave the engine bay a wipe I notice a cable was unplugged, loose and just hanging....plugged it back in. I wonder what sensor that was.

Grab a picture of it if you can be bothered. Sure someone can figure it out. Weird that you presumably noticed no issues though.

Do explain some more, so that's where that squeaking coming from? this line?

It just clipped on, looks more like a sensor line or something.

Doubt the brakes squeaking have anything to do with that line. Maybe need new pads? Or some copper slip on back of them?

You may have noticed the brakes feel spongy or clutch feel a tad weird?

Tbh I've got the earlier setup with 2 vac lines one being an actual vac line and the other a sensor like yours. Never noticed a difference myself but people have mentioned there to be.

Had cam belt and water pump done on Wednesday. Haven't really driven it much since but popped the bonnet a short while ago and noticed the coolant level in the expansion tank was below the min marker. Topped up with about half a litre and somehow the water level didn't seem to change much at all. Then took a look underneath the car to see a couple of small wet patches on the ground and a few drips on the undertray. Great.
