What have you done to your car today?

Some cutting, some welding, some painting and we now have a hydraulic clutch and a electronic pedal.

Not today but yesterday:

Removed wheels and brake pads and gave the calipers a good clean. Cleaned and greased caliper guide pins, reassembled and bled the brakes.

For a 2009 mx5 nc, she's holding up well underneath with just light surface rust. Might even consider treating her to some performance cams and/or ITBs.

After the MOT last month where an advisory came up about innner brake pads being worn I replaced all pads and hoped the slight tremour on steering wheel when braking from 60ish gently would have been fixed but no -so with some new pins yesterday I took offside brakes off -all of it -wire brushed and drill wire wheeled everything -cleaned and put it all together -Tested it and no difference -Today took nearside wheel off -put two nuts on to hold disc firm the started car up and put it in first and there on disc was very slight wobble - bugger -so got two new disc and fitted them.
I started at 10.00 and it was past 2.30 when I finished -few hour jobs now take me hours -Gave it a bit of a test but need to go a bit further for real test.
Why the hell I used to enjoy doing this is beyond me- It's a PITA -dirty -filthy soul destroying -I started with gloves on but can't stand them then had to search house for the swarfega.
No pictures as didn't have strength to hold camera up,

Upgraded the BMW NBT head unit in my F30 to NBT Evo ID6. Have used it before on other cars but it's nice to have it in my own one. Feels fresher and has the advantage of native CarPlay.

Here's the Evo unit alongside a spare NBT unit that I took out of my previous car. Evo is a fair bit smaller than NBT, probably because it runs quite warm so the extra space is likely needed for heat dissipation:

And all back together:

Didn't bother retrofitting the ATM unit on top so I don't have ConnectedDrive services, but I wouldn't make use of that anyway so decided it wasn't worth the extra expense.

Freed up my s2000 brakes as sold it and it should be going tomorrow. However someone has stolen the cat whilst it’s been parked in the drive, last started it in Jan. Luckily I have a spare manifold but it needs a new system now too :(. They also jacked it up in the sill too which has dented it.

It’s sat there 4 yrs and someone knocked on the door wanting it back in April so offered it to him as I need the space for a boring EV to replace it too.

Sorry to hear, surely if you moved the sofa you could park the eV there rather than having to get rid of the s2k?
Ha. Maybe doing decorating and that was for collection. It’s sat for years unused so better to go to a good home

The stolen cat was sad but the sofa on the garden somewhat made it seem like an obvious combo.

Found a paint issue...

Paint has started bubbling on the roof. What's the chances this can be fixed without needing a full respray? Guessing not an easy job?

Sorry, on my phone and accidentally quoted above comment!

That's most likely going to have to go to a proper spray booth its really hard to do roof resprays! Not going to be cheap either!!

That screen will have to come out as that's the source of the corrosion.

Not done today per say but need to sort the front pads out on my 120d e82 ,

Anyone ordered from autodoc website before? Never run in to this place before

Yep, ordered plenty of times. Usually use the safe order option as it's saved my bacon a couple of times.

Delivery is 1 week+ though usually, so best for preventative stuff.
