What have you done to your car today?

D'oh!

I noticed I was losing some power, only seemed intermittent though.

So I gave the car a quick check over and found this:

Soaked air filter, and soaked MAF.
Turns out the pipe drawing air from the inner wing is missing, meaning the bottom of the airbox is open to the elements. Awesome!

New air filter fitted, MAF cleaned and it's fine now. Bloody cars. :p

yesterday i fixed up a small karcher pressure washer that had been left at our place by the previous guy. it didnt appear to have been used before but he had chopped the power lead and put a different connector on (i think the aim was to have all tools with one connector and one extension lead for the lot.

this thing is a tiny dot of a pressure washer but does the job and cleaned the moss/rubbish of my garage door with ease. it basically saved me spending c.£100 on a washer of my own

Next job was to clean the cars. Golf hadnt been done since before the snow (and salt) and the BMW was now struggling to bead water so wanted a wash and wax.

When the weather is better and i have more time i will go to town on the BMW, it wants to be clayed. i also think today was the first time it has been pressure washed in years

I also learned that when applying hard wax, I read that applying with a damp cloth helps. OMG does it help. Using hard wax is now almost as easy to do as liquid products.

When i feel the motivation next, Ill buy some Autoglym HD Wax for it

Chav grill and chav fog lights will go when i get round to finding original replacements (ive not actually looked)

It needs to go back to OE headlights too, but Im completely split between original orange indicators or keep them clear

Chavvy tints are staying for the meantime. I actually really like them, you dont get blinded people people tailgating or who have badly aligned headlights, you can barely see anything out of the car at all

Parked in a pay and display carpark for 3 hrs without a ticket...

Got away with it.

Oh and I hoovered and washed the interior at last. There appears to be a film of something on the glass tints that doesn't want to come off, could be an anti scratch coating or just years of grime.
I can't really tell but the drivers window is now much more seethrough after some elbow grease and windolene. :D

Enjoy, either kit is a big step up from the standard car! 185 is a real screamer in terms of power delivery, such fun, and the bangs you get on fast upshifts are fun too :D
