What have you done to your car today?

As he tends to dump cars after 6 months (and it's going on a sheddy Rover) then actually fitting some tyres with good grip and decent wear rates is probably a waste of money.

Awesome logic you have there. So despite the car sharing most suspension parts with the Civic / Integra you'd put cheaper tyres on because of a badge?
Then not forgetting the ZS suspension setup allows for quicker cornering than a Civic (pretty hard) so more grip is likely needed.

Makes perfect sense... :p

If you'd read the rest of my post you would have seen that I'd actually used some nankang's and grip was fairly good at the expense of a very high wear rate. So they make sense on a car that will be dumped after 6 months.

Fair enough :)

I'm doing about 24k a year so need something that'll take some wear.
Hopefully keeping the car for a good while - I've got a hefty tax bill to shift and running this is helping.

Seems OK for now, anyway :p

If you purchase an H7R kit specifically designed for reflector type lens headlights then yes I believe so:-

I have H7Rs in the ZS, they're great. So much less glare than regular HIDs.

Today, I washed it. That's all :p

Well, in the end I decided to take the alloys off my car for their DIY refurb, and replace them with 14" steelies for the time being. Glad I kept them in my shed :p

The steelies minged hard, so I got a £1 rattle can of paint for a quick dusting of black paint. End result, not too bad.

Edit: Jesus, what a crap photo :D thanks iPhone.

Fitted a new foglight to my E92 to replace the smashed one. Took me a while to find the right unit, as it is the Msport version.
BMW wanted £109 for the part alone. But managed to get a new one from ebay for about £40.
Took about 40 minutes to fit, mainly due to the poor access caused because I am lazy and didnt remove the wheel or jack it up!

Amazingly the bulb survived the break and 2 months of exposure to the elements :)

The bulb could probably do with a quick clean though :p

Today I knocked up a replacement clutch hydraulic system that'll fit the ZS180 - the OE system is rubbish as anyone will tell you.

It's not actually stronger but about 1/4 of the price, and simple to change. Doesn't fix the issue but it's so much cheaper.

Done a bit to the ZS today.

- Fitted a new bonnet hinge (rattling due to play)
- Fitted W5W LED number plate bulbs - one died and I had a pair of the LED version lying around
- Fitted Freelander injectors. Interesting as no one really knows the flow rates, however they're known to be higher than the standard 210 bar injectors fitted. Gives it a nice lump of low down torque, without the smoke of the higher-again flow SDi injectors.
- Replaced a couple of centre console and instrument pack bulbs that were out

Not a bad day considering I aimed to do nothing

Fixed a few issues.

Cleaned up a sticky front caliper. Old:

Front wing was badly dented, pulled it out with minimal damage:

Replaced the clutch fluid:

Gave the inside a quick clean:

Next weekend it's new brakes all around, and a rebuild of the rear calipers as they're looking pretty old. :)
