What have you done to your car today?

My whole replacement exhaust was £100 new and I fitted it myself. :p

What you need Biffa, is a Polo. :D

Anyway, when I replaced my oil filter, I accidentally spilled some of the dirty oil out of the filter housing into my alternator. I cleaned as much of it up as I could, but today my alternator has stopped working properly and is being temperamental. Doh.

4 new tyres and front and rear geometry.... £375 :p ( focus mk1 1.8 Collection )

I am a tit and never got the geometry done after front suspension work last year... result was serious toe in and 2 ruined dunlops :p

The backs needed replacing anyway so when i went in i was shocked when he inspected the front to find them nearly worn to the cords on the insides :eek:

I am no car fanatic, i am sad to say i am a full it with fuel type and goto garage if it acts strangely.

I guess now it explains why the handling felt funny past few months.

I usually have dunlops or goodyears but went for 4 cooper Zeon CS6's ( avons ) after reading a good few reviews. I went for a good spirited drive after work and they seem very grippy and responsive... even a good blast through some standing water was very reassuring.

Anyway i am firmly in the dunces corner now but i have learned a valuable lesson.... get the geometry checked every so often! apparently the front was 7mm out when the tolerance is supposed to be .5mm :D

Indie exhaust specialist, not even a big name one, but the one I usually go to for nice cheap repairs. Its not even OEM, thats the price for a 3rd party exhaust.

Its basically shot, and the A2 exhaust is sold in just two parts, both of which need replacing. I checked online and apart from them being as rare as hens teeth the retail price lines up with the fitted price he quotes.

Just one of those expensive months for cars that come along every now and then.
 
I think we can establish that the RR can't drive for pants but for the Westfield for then to go and put himself in such a retarded position is even more stupid.

Oh, that changes things :o I got a 328i exhaust brand new from Cotswold for £375 - I thought that was pretty decent a while back!

Sometimes you just have to pony up I guess :p

The AutoGlym set arrived, so I've given the interior a clean. The speedo has gone from a fog (previous owner.. what were you doing?!) to crystal clear. Very happy.

The exterior will be done next weekend. Probably. :p

Got to agree with pepsilol on this one, you noticed how bad they were with lane discipline and that they didn't seem to be aware of the road/their surroundings yet you put yourself into a position where you could have hurt yourself. Seems to go ok though when you found a safe spot to overtake :D

TBH I was covering the brake - I wouldn't have got beside them as I had an inkling they might do something like that so was ready on the horn as well :D Deffinately deserved a good blast.
