What have you done to your car today?

Scrapped my old Primera. Had it for 7 years but rust got the better of it. :(

Nooo I love that shape. Did the 20Ve get saved??

Put my car in for MOT at a recommended Vauxhall specialist(aren't they all?)

All good other than a loose heat shield which he fixed back on.

Cheapest MOT I've had in my driving history at £55, paid £480 to get the Almera GTI to pass before.

Sold the girlfriend's old car, Mazda2 sport. (she recently got an Audi TT to replace it)

Quite surprised, priced it up based on what similar cars are priced at locally and it sold within only a few days for the asking price. Granted could have maybe got another 1-2 hundred but it was nice and easy and still a lot more than 'webuyanycar' etc.

So decided to wash all the cars that remain lol - morning well spent.

Finally got all the bits and pieces I've ordered over the last few weeks to get the Supra road ready again.
Went to work really early this morning in order to get most of the day off so I could go straight to the workshop to do the following to the Supra:

- Complete coolant flush in radiator, engine + heater system, later filled with new Toyota long life (red)

- Drained current oil and replaced with 5 litres of Fuchs TITAN GT1 XTL 5W-40 synthetic engine oil

- Replaced oil filter + fuel filter with new oem units

- Installed new fuel pump, old one was needed a change after 160k

- Brake system flushed + new fluids

- New ceramic brake pads all round

- Replaced front two shocks with slightly harder springs that sit 15mm lower than stock.

- Power steering system flushed + new fluids

- Rear tyres replaced with new 265/35 ZR18 FEDERAL 595 RS-R

- Gearbox + LSD fluids drained and replaced

- Filled up washer fluid

Think I managed to change or refresh every fluid in the car aside from the clutch fluid.

With all the major service items done now for another few thousand miles it's time to put the Supra back on the road.
Finished off the day by putting some new tax on it and drove it home from the workshop for the first time in over a month now.

The weather wasn't looking too promising, but at least roads were more or less dry and there were a few spells of sunshine. New exhaust system sounds awesome, seeing as it is more or less straight through currently.

Next on the list is to get a slightly smaller import spec license plate and create a sub box for the sound system that can be plug and play and put in the boot.

That supra is gorgeous! :D
I think I'm going through a JDM phase right now, any Jap icon is giving me the urge to splurge!! Need me a car with choo choo noise!

Gave the engine bay it's first clean in probably forever. Needs another few goes until I'll be happy with it.

Oil light has been flickering on and off lately quite a bit. Checked oil level this morning with the dip stick and there was barely any oil on it at all.

Bit worried it has all drained but I've not seen any puddles and no leaks I can see. So I've put about 2litres in and will check it later.

Only had an oil and filter change in Jan. Mk3 Mondeo. I know they can burn oil but not all of it

Went to prestige car service on the way to their Benz on the Green event. Had the auto box flushed - it is shifting perfectly now. But the bigger item, I had a eurocharged remap put on it. OMG, the thing absolutely flies, even more than it did before. Great drive back on the country roads in the sunshine to hear those beautiful exhaust notes!

Recognise that engine bay, did the same to my MPS the other week, she was crying out for a clean.

Yep pretty disgusting to be fair. Full service next + ARB bushes and a rear motor mount to help the car feel a bit more planted. After that it's onto the power mods when I get bored of stock.

Tried to fix the offside main beam (it is only receiving 5V for some reason, should be getting 12) and failed... :(

If anyone could share insight that would be grand. :p

It isnt the bulb, or the fuse, or the connections inside the headlight unit, it isnt the earth strap, and the wire reads 5V all the way up to and through the firewall.

A relay or a control unit or something?

Is the bulb holder/connector corroded?

Edit: sorry I just realised you said you checked the connections inside the light, please forgive my world class muppetry! :o

I wouldn't have thought it was the relay as that would affect both lights I should think. I wonder if it could be an issue with the switch?

Not sure if it could be the switch, the nearside has 12V when the lights are on, and 0V when they are off, and the offside has 5V when they are on, and 0V when they are off.
