What have you done to your car today?

Soorrrry, I removed the stock BOV

Oh I didn't notice that you said "deleted", I just thought that he had quoted your post in its entirety and replaced the text with "deleted". :p

I use the word "delete" because it seems to be widely used in the industry. People always advertise CAT/DPF/BOV/EGR removal and so on as "CAT/DPF/BOV/EGR delete" so I adopted the term, regardless of whether or not it makes sense. I quite like it to be honest...

Yep, in the Leon. I've had it a year now, and other than the rather dubious centre console on the interior (it's quite hideous), everything else has been great. I love the DSG box and the power delivery of the 2.0 TFSI and the seats don't leave me with backache on long journeys like the wifes Mondeo.

The centre console is indeed particularly rotten. Think it would take well to a matt black wrap or being dipped?

Coming round to the idea of a Cupra despite my hate of the inside

What's wrong with deleted?

Nothing. They knew what he meant. People in motors can just be anal retentive and are most likely bordering somewhere on the autism spectrum, so throw a **** fit when anything isn't OEM or someone uses words they don't like. They'll also argue about anything.

Bonnet bras look fine.

I considered it, but in the FR the centre console is colour matched to the steering wheel area too, which would mean removing the whole lot. I just ignore it now :D It's functional, just not pretty

It does sound a bit silly though, don't you think? The word 'deleted' is generally for the context of printed text.

Does it sound silly? Yes. Do I throw a **** fit any time someone uses it? No. It's like that thread yesterday arguing about what constitutes riding the clutch. Nobody cares. We knew what he meant. But they were determined to beat that horse to a bloody lifeless pulp. A congealed jam of horse meat and plasma.

Who's throwing a fit? Someone just said it sounds silly.

Give me a break. Any time someone says "delete" the usual motors lot are out in force with "Hurrrr that sounds dumb". Every. Damn. Time. If they weren't I wouldn't have made the connection and noticed it. Every. Damn. Time. It's really ****ing tiresome. Here's some posts from the thread that reminded me of people bitching about it last time.

Yes. You were one of them.

Edit: Here's some more.

86JR points out you're pedants: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=25942252&postcount=27
Here you pop up again moaning about it: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=25943406&postcount=29

This is a regular thing any time someone says delete (as evidenced by this thread), and the usual suspects involved end up in one great big circle jerk about the word delete.
