What have you done to your car today?

Took the old ECU out of the case, and put the new one in for the MX5

Smaller and more powerful!

Also plugged in a BMW throttle position sensor, as the standard mx5 one only shows open/shut, where as the BMW one shows how far open it is, and plugs straight into the MX5 connector.

You've gone with the ME221? How are you finding it so far?

I considered it as an option but they weren't offering them for the Mk2 when I was ready to buy

Yeah, haven't done too much with it yet, as I've got a few other thing that need finishing before I can go driving. I plugged it in, put the map line in, and the car started straight away though, already had the map for a 1.6 N/A on it

Sold it due to incoming baby. Sad to see it go, even if it isn't the most exciting car to drive :(

Sold to the first person who came to look at it. €500 more than I paid but I did spend a shocking €3000 on servicing and repairs. Should've bought it for less but didn't spot some problems on the test drive. Also, I hate AC compressors with a passion! Hideously expensive things!

Let's see how long I last with a 130bhp Passat before I have enough and buy something quick again.

Did a quick rattle can wheel refurb. Primer, paint and lacquer cost me £10 which is a bit cheaper than the £60 per wheel you'd normally pay. Not a perfect job by any means as I couldn't be arsed spending hours sanding and filling, but still a decent improvement.

The one on the front is how the rear was before today.

Looks good - thinking of giving my wheels a go - is it easy as worried about making them look worse?

Also love the veilside sticker, very fast and furious :)

It's dead easy - I'm awful at stuff like this so if I can do it anyone can. It won't be a perfect finish unless you spend hours on the prep, but it'll look 90% as good as a pro refurb.

Think I'll be removing the Veilside sticker though to keep with my vaguely stock look :p

Washed it, and a quick going over with aquawax. Not perfect but it will do until I get around to doing it properly.

I have to add a 7mm spacer onto my wheels to make them fit over my brakes :( They already had a slight poke but an extra 7mm poke, my car will now be in the "stance" category :( May have to run stretched wheels too.

That's some seriously cheap paint, you should have masked the valve tho otherwise don't look too bad :)

Well, it turned nice and sunny so the 2 is off the road :o Bottom of radiator has a tiny leak and is dripping out a couple of litres a day, new one ordered off the bay which should be here for Friday.

Back to the Chevy Kalos for a few days :(

He basically got a cowboy painter to do it, who didn't do the job Stormster paid for.

Stormster being a soft old sod keeps letting him have another crack at it. Guessing this is the last time though?
