What have you done to your car today?

Acme, what led's are those?

Just cheap eBay ones which I originally bought for my interior lights. Bear with me, I'll look at my purchase history! :p

e; Here. :)

My interior and exterior lights are now a mixture of yellow and white, which wasn't intentional... :p

Topped up the oil - £10 for a litre of the correct shell helix ultra oil, took 400ml to put it back to max... In 2000 miles.

This car's insatiable thirst for oil is going to bankrupt me :D

Just bought 5L of VAG longlife DPF oil, iPhone 5 charger (stupidly let the old one go with the S3) and some OEM rear blinds. Stopped short of buying the Audi mini fridge :o

Attempted a service, managed engine oil, plugs, HT leads etc

Then attempted the gearbox oil and diff oil, and gave up after 2 hours of trying to get fill and drain plugs out. Have left everything soaking in GT-85 overnight and will try again tomorrow

Had an awesome day doing passenger rides at Bruntingthorpe as part of the "On Your Marks" charity event!

The car suspension is now falling apart, I got ran off the track by a Porsche Cayenne and collected a cone to the rear passenger door and I've now got a thumbnail sized stone chip in my windscreen but I had an absolute blast!

I think I may have buggered the car quite badly though.

1. I think the rear diff is shot as you get a very low frequency rapid thumping from the rear when you boot it.

2. The steering rack or suspension is making a mechanical knocking sound which can be felt through the wheel and gets louder with a left turn and quieter on a right but past 30' of turn in either direction it's silent.

3. The rear left brake stone guard came loose and is resting on the disc making a lovely grinding noise.

4. The brakes all round got so hot 3 tyres have lost all or some of the balance weights as the glue failed so the wheels are vibrating.

5. The stone Chip!

6. The cone mark on the left rear passenger door (which has already been polished out) has left a very small scratch.

7. The stupid intake manifold pipe popped off twice and requires a proper solution.

However, the positives were

1. The AP Racing Discs/DS2500/ATE SuperBlue combo was amazing, 50+ 170mph to 50mph stops without a single fade. the DS2500's smoke a bit for the first 3-4 stops but settled down afterwards.

2. The engine is perfect and surprised soooo many people.

3. I'm now watching back all the passenger reactions and seeing shocked faces and things that I miss during the drive.

After a bit of MRC TLC I may consider another one next year

My friend and his dad were there in the Boxster S - said your car was making a rather interesting grinding noise :p

Yeap, that was the stone guard rubbing the disc. I eventually got black flagged for the "scary" noise as other drivers thought it was caused by a dangerous brake issue but myself and the tech's from Turbo Technics had already stripped the wheel & brakes down earlier and found that it was just a loose stone guard. The car did 12+ 170-50 stops with it making noise with no issue before being stopped.

The video will be done during the week sometime, I'm knackered now as I was up at 4am to get to Leicestershire!

Boot lid had a few bad scratches on it where it has either had handbags regularly placed on it, or someone has been a bit too rough when removing some bird droppings. Not to worry, DA polisher to the rescue!

Now the rest of the car is quite swirled and the boot lid is perfect...

Yesterday I had chipsaway respray sand and respray my rear wheel arch where I previously had a scruff mark that was resprayed badly. They did an amazing job.

Picked up my car with its freshly refurbished wheels today. Very happy with the job and they look a lot better, they look great in black :)

... Just kidding :p

I'm very happy with the results and it's given them a nice new lease of life.

Might attack the locking wheel nuts with a wire wheel or something at some point.[/QUOTE]

Just take it off. Looks much better with 5 nuts all the same. Presume your car alarm would tell you someone was pinching the wheels:p

Cured most of the issues today once it was on a set of ramps. The centre driveshat bearing is shot which is the only "big" thing left.

brake noise - this tiny little mark was causing all the horrendous noise!!!!

Everything is set up, my car is washed inside and out, all of my belongings have been removed, I have fitted the original radio and aerial, there are two boxes of spare parts in the boot, the paperwork is all waiting for me downstairs, my new insurance policy is all lined up and ready for me to activate when I make the call, the funds are in my account ready, and I have a meeting with the dealer at 5PM, after work...
