What have you done to your car today?

Finally worked out that I can program the 8 memory buttons to do whatever I want in my F10 :(

I always just assumed they were for radio only

As for my high beam telltale replacement, I went from a tiny LED with a cap on it (originally it was a tiny bulb with a blue cap) to a large blue LED with some paint to tint / lower the brightness.

It might be a touch bright but it's similar to the previous tiny LED I had in there and I rarely have full beam on anyway as most of my night driving is around town / on the motorway with traffic about.

So after doing this, was out tonight in the car and realised I must have put the bulb for the MFA (digital screen showing clock/mpg/etc) back in wrong as it isn't illuminated.

Job for the weekend...or one evening after work if I can be bothered, not too big a deal, just means I can't read any info about the car...but then I have gauges that do most of that stuff now anyway.

Picked these Porsche 996 brakes up a good while ago for a brake conversion, finally got them rebuilt and painted.
My brakes look well past their best, so rather than wait and refresh it all OEM I thought I would go a step further and upgrade the notoriously crap M3 set up to something a little better.

I'm going to wait for better weather before taking on the conversion. Still need to pick up a few more parts anyway.

Left West Yorkshire to get to Coventry (100 miles away) at half 7. Got home at 12.

Was 15 minutes from home when the M69 came to a stand still. Didn't move for about 2 and a half hours until they turned us around and sent us back down the "wrong" way of the motorway.

Proper serious crash, supposedly there were 2 cars in an accident and driver/passenger got out of the car immediately and then were hit by oncoming.. Not sure why traffic was still flowing after the crash.. What's wrong with people  :(

On the subject of crashes and traffic, the A27 is closed from Lancing - eastbound. It took me half an hour to get about 200 yards, before turning around and coming home again... I'm so glad I can work from home when needed! (sort of)

Not today but last night I packed my Teg ready for Brands Hatch tomorrow. Practical thing...

There's 4 spare wheels with AD08R's on, two more wheels in boxes without tyres, a Mugen airbox, jack, axle stands, toolbox, oil, washer fluid, torque wrench, impact gun, helmet/gloves, warm jacket, workshop gloves, small suitcase in the passenger footwell and some other random crap.

Today i shut my drivers side door and the passenger side one exploded. Guessing the Gritter or a car chipped the glass last night.

wonder what people pay for alloy wheel refurb?

does £90/pop sound right?

theyre 19" require tyre removal but they're not on the car.

I paid £300 to have all mine refurbished. This seemed about the right sort of price. 18 months later the finish is exactly the same (bar a couple of stone chips).

First Aid Wheels.

Great service, great quality and drop in if you prebook. There isn't anything they can't do and their prices are also good.

Skoda: Took the alternator out of the which was a PITA, swapped the pulleys (I say pulleys, I removed the middle bit of the old one because its all that was left) and put it back in.

Still need to finish bolting up the PAS pump, put the new aux belt on, re-fit the intercooler pipe, and put the undertrays and stuff back on. Job for tomorrow... :)

Bimma: Removed the rear boot cubby panels with speakers in them (aftermarked bodge fix for faulty rear speakers!) and replaced the panels with ones I bought from a breaker, without bodged speaker holes... Taped off the wires for now so I can connect up new rear speakers at some point.

Went and got two tyres fitted to the BBS' for the Bimma. All four wheels are now ready to go on. Will hopefully do that tomorrow too...

Oh and I found a bit more rust near the rear tail lights and on the corners of the tailgate by the numberplate... Meh!
