What have you done to your car today?

Replaced the exhaust camshaft sensor today on my 330. My fault reader flagged up the common P0369 code.

Car feels much better like it must have been robbed of a lot of power low revs.

Having done it on my old 320i it was a nice quick easy job.

Can you give me an idea of cost and possibly a part number please buddy?

Took the TT to the garage yet again for some work, but yesterday I noted a new clanking noise coming from the rear. Must avoid speed bumps, they herald more wallet abuse... :(

Upshot is next weeks money burning will be. Secondary Air pump, boost valve and possibly rear springs... Though I may hold off on those.

I'm hoping the boost valve replacement might bring back some of the old girls "zing". She has seemed a bit flat lately.

Fitted my new wiper arm after some lovely fellow decided to rip it off. New flat style wipers on there, although the very edge of the passengers side lifts off the screen a bit. The TT windscreen is quite rounded, but I'm hoping the wiper will mould to the shape a bit in time.

I really don't like my Bosch ones at all. Not only because of the lifted blade edge, but I just don't think they clear the screen that well.

I've got lucas ones which are £15, and they clear the screen really well, but the real test will be longevity.

Have you done your rear arb? That and the drop links make a right racket when the bushes get soft and the collars break. I've got polybushes on the arb and replacement drop links lined up to go on, and you can feel the extra stiffness when pushing it mid corner, worth doing.

I would get rid of the air pump. More trouble than it's worth (the updated bam engine didn't have it, in favour of vvt). Has the maf ever been changed?

Installed new DR32 dash cam into place on windscreen and hard wired its feed from the top of the windscreen down into the little cubby under the stereo.

I can run it from the 'cig lighter or the 12000mAh external power pack in there so it doesn't drain the car battery if i leave it running without the engine on. All in all a good hour spent as i was planning on doing it Saturday but now i'm working overtime.

Oh, 5 meter power cable was OTT!:D

Nice wash...... My god I need to get the rotary out!
Hoover
Reassmebled a few bits of trim.
Checked tyre pressure, nuts, adjusted damper settings for tomorrow, checked fluids etc.
Tested GoPro on windscreen.
Just purchased a full tank of petroleum.

Thrilling stuff!

Noticed the exhaust tip was looking a bit faded/aged so sprayed it with high heat resistant paint:

Better!

Drove my best mate to Gatwick, for a 1215pm flight, got to south terminal entrance at 1020am whereupon he informs me that his flight is from Terminal 1, at HEATHROW!

Slight panic to get across outer London, avoiding the motorway as the M25 was a car park this morning - due to a 2 Army truck collision & spillage!

Pull up at the T1 passenger drop off at 1154, Rob practically dives out of the car. I wait for the inevitable phonecalls asking me to wait for him to come back out, but a text at 1205 informs me he made it - thanks to the boarding pass on his phone & hand luggage only. Apparently had the fastest pee ever too

Return home was smooth: Heathrow to Portsmouth in 65 mins! Galaxy Duratorq performed admirably, Portsmouth - Gatwick - Heathrow (No Motorways) - Portsmouth on less than 1/4 tank :D

Black pipe isnt something i dont think ive seen before.

Ive been considering spraying the back box on mine black as it is very visible from the rear and its currently 50 shades of rust/grey. a plain black back box would be an improvement

That is an impressive story!

My new thermostat housing arrived today, complete with new thermostat already in it so I now have a spare genuine Ford stat and a useless ECP stat.

The interesting thing (if you would call it that) is that the brass thread inserts don't make an appearance on the new housing and it it uses torx screws instead of 10mm bolts to hold the two sides of the housing together.

Ford must have identified the design flaw in their original housing and replaced it at some point after the 54 plate cars were introduced.

BMW do polished black exhaust tips you push in and screw lock on but I had my specialist increase the tip outlet by half an inch when I had a new backbox put in couple years ago, it's about 2.7" now whereas the stock one was 2" else I'd have gotten another stock tip. The widened tip fits the valance gap nicer as the stock one had a bit of a gap and looked a bit lame. I think the matte black looks nice. I'll have to remove the valance and sand the tip down properly one nice weekend as this is just a temporary fix, the finish is a bit rough.

MOT tomorrow. Fingers crossed please, people ;)

Place bets now folks :D
