what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

just got another set of hd599 after selling them a couple of years back £89 new black Friday on rain couldn't resist.

for music they seem alright. bit of a step down over my hd58x/hd650 but Jesus when it comes to gaming the sound is so good. The synergy with different HRTF seems so spot on. Also forget how comfy the 5 series is.

Now have a set of BeyerDynamic Tygr 300 - up until recently they came as a bundle with a USB mic but now they have become available on their own.

Simply, they have hit the sweet spot for me. Have sold my 58x now. The Beyer combine the best of the DT990 & DT880 for me. They are soooo comfortable, sound fantastic from a positional sound point of view and combine the bass similar to the DT990 without the peaky top end. Also pretty easy to drive. Without doubt my gaming headphones of choice now - a removable cable would have made them perfect!

i hate highs on the dt990 despite loving them everywhere else, this sounds very good! Yeah shame about the cable.

so they look like dt880s, is that what they are based on?

I was just looking at these too.

I recently got an XB1 controller for the PC and I'm 99% sure I can plug headphones in to those and get the game sound that way? Any downside to that?

I'm not sure but think they may be. There seems to be some difference to the inside of the cup but nothing else noticeable.

they are superb for that use! grab them now before they go back up to £160 (which isn't a price i can really recommend them at)

yeah looking on their website they are saying the have "acoustic fleece" I'm guessing they probably haven't tuned them at all and just found an easy way to dampen the insane highs. i really liked the dt990 but by the time i took -10db from the 10k range off i thought they probably weren't for me.

hopefully they will refresh that range at some point. tune it down a little and add a removable cable.

just ordered a pair. think it was like £130 all in. after doing some reading others were saying the same, that they are basically a dt990 with flatter response curve. I can't pass that up!

Hi would these be a nice upgrade to my curreny Fidelio X2?

In all honesty - probably more of a sideways step imho. Won't have quite as much lower end to them and lighter (and a bit more comfortable to me). Then again you lose the removable cable of the X2.

I do prefer them over the X2s I had overall but wouldn't call them an upgrade really.

don't the x2 have issue with replacement pads though? i thought they didn't do official one?
