I read somewhere i have to set some impendance setting up to avoid damaging my headphones, is this true? (yes audio noob

Depends what you're plugging them in to

You will need to set the gain on your STX. The PC360 will probably be fine on the lowest or medium gain setting.

This card is probably the best purchase i made for my pc, the sound quality is amazing even on youtube vids, What would you reccomend for music settings? i found DH-2 , 192khz and dolby headphone to sound the best

I have a quick question regarding the FiiO E17 and Xonar DX. As the FiiO E17 can only decode 2 channels, would it make no difference, when gaming, to have the audio channels set to 6/8 hence making Dolby Headphone useless?

just got a pair of dt150's today and the frequency response is exceptional, whats your head gear ocuk ?
A few pairs of goldrings, some Allessandros and some sennheisers.
Probably my most used are goldring dr150s
Try some hd600's or hd650's if you can, you should see some improvementWell, I've had a fair few sets, including the HD25s, and have to say these are amazing

old HD590s - still going strong after 10 years or so, daily gaming use.
I'm looking at gaming headsets at the moment - Corsair Vengeance 1300 being top of the list at the moment, but I think they're closed-backed, I wonder what that'll be like, talking into a mic... I think I need an open-backed set.

Just got myself some AKG Q701. They already sound much better than my HD650 even with only 4 hours burn in time so far
You went with the Q701 over the K701?

They are not the same - have a look on head-fi. Plenty of people there saying they are better

There is a lot of debate over it. Some say the Q is slightly warmer and slightly less harsh in the highs. Others say they are the same.
