what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

Just received my Sennheiser HD598 headphones and all I can say from just using them for an hour, is WOW!
Tested them with my Xonar Essence STX + all songs@320kps mp3's.

Started off by playing Emeli Sande's "Breaking the Law", a great vocal piece and I was floored with the clear vocals the cans produced.
I then moved onto 30 Seconds to Mars "Attack", a quite standard heavy rock piece filled with distorted guitars and a great vocalist, I found myself really focusing on the vocals more than anything as the HD598's really seem to clear up the noise you sometimes hear with some distortion laden songs.
For a more fun approach I then switched to a japanese alternative rock band called Ling T. Sigure who are notorious for their interesting vocals, abrupt guitar riffs and insane screaming. Their track "Boukan" starts of as a very quiet piece with just vocals, getting more and more loud and ferocious. This song was jaw dropping on the headphones, I have never been able to properly hear the drums because of the chaotic style of their music but here I felt every bang, every clash of the cymbal, every chord struck on the guitar, absolutely fantastic!
Next up I played the song "Sovngarde" from the game Skyrim, a simple song with nothing but chanting and heavy drums. The headphones were flawless, I could easily hear each section of the choir alongside the drums.
Finally I played one of my favourite songs, "Do it for me now" by Angels & Airwaves. No words, just stunning.

I'm very chuffed with these headphones, build is quite solid despite them being made of lightweight plastic. They are comfortable to wear and while I'm not a fan of the colour scheme it's not a big deal as I won't be wearing them outside. Only disappointment was the packaging, I found it very spartan and the plastic the headphones were encased in didn't exactly scream "high-end" at me. Having owned a set of HD595's a few years ago I was also disappointed there was no holder included.
Overall 9/10.

Lindy Premium Headsets. They may sound like a budget Aldi brand, but these cans perform very well for gaming and music. They are built very well too. I was recommended it by HiFi.org (audiophile forum)

Sennheiser HD558 partnered with a FiiO E10 DAC/amp.

Very happy with this combo, and it isn't a wallet buster (in relative terms), being currently around £125 for the headphones and £62 for the DAC.

The overall clarity, precision, stereo separation, depth and bass weight are more than satisfactory to my ears. Makes long, indulgent listening a pleasure (the headphones are very comfortable, far more so than Grado SR80s/similar).

It's an old cliche but it's great to play well known tracks and realise how much instrumentation one was missing previously.

Highly recommended.

I just picked up a pair of Future Sonics Atrio M5 (now called 'MG7's) IEMs - it was either those or Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 which are approximately the same price in various places. I did really want to get the Ultimate Ears, but then I had heard that the Future Sonics are also the bassiest IEMs you can get this side of the Sennheiser IE8s so that made my mind up. :)

Really enjoying them so far - much better than my UE Super Fi 5s. :)

Still got the HD595 which still sound sublime (via Xonar STX <> NAD C325 Bee amp):

Great choice on the 012s. I've got the 122s (same drivers as the 012s just more tips and filters) and I love them. They're not mega bassy, but then I prefer earphones that have great accuracy and soundstage, and these certainly deliver in those respects.

Still in the running in stage for the next few days but yeah I love the soundstage. Not as spacious as the HD595 but quite close although I imagine after tens of hours of actual usage this will open up perhaps just like the 595 did years ago. I have 10 days anyway until the S3 arrives so plenty of time to keep using them :D

For the PC I have some of the old Zalman surround headphones that had 3 drivers crammed into ear earpiece. For music I have a pair of Samson 850's which I don't rate as highly as the threads on head-fi, and for iems I'm currently using Sennheiser Cm880s.

My Sennheiser HD558's just arrived today, asus xonar DGX 5.1 sound card and speedlink clip-on mic should arrive tomorrow from ocuk. :)

Very pleased with the sound quality out of the box, time to start burning them in. :D

I can already tell they're a massive upgrade to my turtle beach x11 headset. :p

Got some e10's for out and about, which I love for the quality of the soundstage, it's funny because I use them in the car with the missus as I find the car audio so fluffy in comparison!

Recently bought a titanium HD on an impulse and ended up pairing it with the 558's. Brilliant headphones, made me realise I have a mouse button click sound in windows!!!
