what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

were they properly amped ?

Alas, no. I should've mentioned that :o
They were connected to a decent Yamaha amp, though I'm not sure how good the headphone output stage was. Probably not that good I'd imagine.
Fwiw (and it's sacrilegious I admit), I also tried them on my Galaxy S2  and they sounded about the same. Bass was good though.

I'm waiting for the chance to try them on my Essence before I really judge them.

Apologies for the rambling comparison I posted up there too...

On another note, I have since put some DT250 pads on the V6's and ooh they're lovely :) I love them even more now, but would still really like to try some DT770s.

Sennheiser has that trait, after 100 hours of regular usage more good things happen.

Definitely seems to be true of sennheiser from my experience - recently picked up a pair of MX580s for use at work, etc. and at first bass was almost non-existant but now coming up on 100 hours the low range presence is coming out - tho thats not what these are for - the mid and highs are phenomenally clear for earphones.

lol, it's not a show off your epic, elite gear thread :)
Well, not unless you want to of course.

Anyway, they seem to be pretty well received according to this:

I am also quiet satisfied so fare. I have heard better of course but for a measly 80ish pounds i think they do a good job and thats for the more expensive Fnatic edition (the orange set).

Have you owned any of the beyers the Dt770 880 990 etc ? if so how do they stack up to those ? also which sony model are those ? how do you rate the momentums to the ns1000 when amped (not the onboard).

I may have once upon a time (I went to What HiFi show in Bristol twice) but i can't remember what i tried now.

As to the NS1000 amped, I've not tried it amped as that isn't what i got them for. I have a Musical Fidelity X-Can v2/X-PSU if I want to use an amp.

akg 450
m-audio q40 (Just modded with beyer DT770 earpads, I don't recommend them. They change the sound profile of the headphones, they reduce a lot of the great bass that the q40 has)

Got another pair of goldring ns1000 the other day and they seem fine no doubt they will start to crack after a couple years but at £60 I don't mind just love the sound of these things through the E5 amp.

Well I can add in at least against the 650s (having owned both) that the DT880 is the higher, more detail oriented one. Has more treble when compared to the 650, and is great for things like classical and orchestral, but because of the boosted treble, is pretty fatiguing. I'd say the 880 is great for short listening sessions, whereas the 650 is more tuned for general chill listening (they can make anything sound good, the 880 will punish you for listening to a badly mastered track).

That's what I've found anyway. Might not bed exactly what you were after, but yeah. :p

I own Sennheiser HD 555 headphones.

They broke after 2 years, 11 months and 21 days.

I thought great...I'm within the warranty period for once...there's me thinking it was for 3 years instead of 2...silly me.

New K550's

A gift (from me to me) for my recent birthday.

These things are so beautifully comfortable, and sound extremely spacious for closed phones. Wholeheartedly reccomended!

I couldn't work out how to post thumbnail images... sorry.
