Just seen the Sennheiser HD598 on for £149, is this something that you would recommend? I will be mainly listening to music and movies. I would like to have a pair that don't need anything extra like an amp. They look comfortable which is great and the reviews all seem very positive, I wouldn't call myself an audiophile but definitely appreciate hearing my music as it should be.

The 598 are open backed. So for traveling they are not great. Also at that price you can get some better headphones.

I will need your music taste before I recommend :)

Honestly they are not too terrible.

Well the Solo HD sonically is a joke, but as a portable it's a decent little headphone that is fairly comfy. If picked up under £50 I think it's worth it.

Studios are quite fun, dry though and don't hit the spot.

The Studio 2013 is very good and is midfi quality IMO. I think with the newer studio they have finally found a winner.

creative aurvana live or one of superlux range, also some solid bargain headphones around too like the fischer audio 004 v2 panasonic htf600 which can be got cheap also been reading some good vibes about the £26 Philips SHL3300 http://www.head-fi.org/t/697813/review-philips-shl3300-dj-headphones-most-underrated-headphone

Recently overhauled my ancient Senn HD580s with a new custom paint job, new grilles and new foam ear & headband pads. Still the best value headphones I've ever owned.
 
Just ordered a pair of SoundMAGIC E10 earphones after my RHA 350i pair fell apart. They should be here tomorrow thanks to Amazon's lovely new Sunday deliveries.

I'll be interested to see the difference, but I'm a still a tad concerned about the lack of an inline remote. I'll just have to see how I get on.

Do people use theirs? Not sure I used it enough to miss it.
 
I love my E10s, altho I do miss the normal controls. I've starting creating playlists rather than just playing full albums to limit the amount of track seeking required during the lunch break etc... The E10s are totally worth it though IMO, they sound great for the price. Shame I accidentally put mine in the washing machine, but think they still sound the same! Haha.
