what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

Upate on the Nighthawks I just put the velour pads back on and fired up The Last Of Us. Basically I noticed with the stock pads in quiet scenes where there's dialogue voices would have a slight echo of warmth and it's now completely gone. Pads and really loose so the sound escapes nicely. I'd say there's no or minimal hint of boxiness to the sound. definitely reminds me of a better version of the X2 with some Denon/Fostex thrown in there. Soundstage is pretty large in dolby headphone and also in music kind of like the TH900 and larger than the HD650..they leak sound like a biatch though.

I'd imagine the pleather aspect of your pads would still restrict them, try the pure velours on them, I'd imagine they'd be pretty excellent with your mods.

Gave my antique DT 770's an overhaul with a new headband and new black velour pads. They are in surprisingly good condition considering they are now knocking on 20 years old.

10,000 years down the line archaeologists will be digging up Beyerdynamics and all they will need to be fully functional is new pads :D

The end of November batch sounds phenomenal!

Love the Audeze sound and customer service.

I sent my LCD-3 off as one of the drivers died, I don't know if it was because I was using my HD800 for a month but since getting them back they sound better than ever.

Could it be something new with the drivers across the range since they developed the LCD-4 as I did read they have a new film supplier?

sold he Ember to try the Vali 2 just waiting for stock. Sold the Nighthawks to try the newer LCD-2. I'll prob settle with these as they really are an improvement over previous LCD-2 and Fazor LCD-3's closer to the pre fazor but more treble energy.

Put the Crack on hold but will pick it up after the Vail but I'm really enjoying the LCD-2s I have.

JP there's been so many issues with Fazors failing the unit you got back should be with the newer components people speak of with better bass extension, no veil issues like before so it's no wonder they sound amazing!

This new LCD-2 I have has excellent bass response. They messed up with the early Fazors but recently have really come along! Let's hope they keep it consistent now!

Have you got your frequency graphs for your new pair?

That explains it then, I will see about getting a frequency graph, they should have the original on file also I would have thought?

If you go to the Audeze site and then support email them your serial number and ask them for a graph. Here's a graph someone posted of a December model so yours should be similar.

More improved bass closer to the pre fazor!

Here's another but pre Nove 2015 revision.

More rolled off bass compared to the newer ones and pre fazor. It's almost as if the first batch of fazors are prototypes which is a shame because people spend a lot of money.

Just received my graphs, brand new and then after replacements.

Pretty big difference, no wonder I thought they sounded "better".
