I have DT990s, AKG K702s and HD650s: I use the HD650s for music, the K702s for gaming and the DT990s live in their box in the wardrobe
To be fair, the DT's were also one of my first steps into decent headphones (after my Sony MDR-v6) too and they kept my ears more than happy for almost a year before I got the AKGs. The K702s are certainly better for gaming (more detailed and larger sound stage) although they also required a lot more amping to drive properly so I also had to upgrade my Creative Sound Blaster Z to an Asus Xonar STX at the same time. Worth it though, Skyrim never sounded so good.
I also have an STX, for some reason i heard DT990 were better for gaming than K702... Damn never mind, they were an extra £50 and i dont have that much disposable income to justify too much expense
