What is the creepiest thing to have ever happened to you?

We used to live in a 5 story flat in berlin. The lift didn't work so me and my mate (we were 6 or 7 at the time) decided to take the stairs. as we looked up we saw a hooded man look down and run down the stairs but always looking over the handrail. no need to say we ran away lol.

I lived in Germany for the first 8 years of my life, my farther was in the army and so we lived there outside of camp on an estate for soldiers families.Anyway when we were living in a house in guterslow a few weird things happened which totally freaked me out.At night after I had been put to bed I usually fell straight to sleep, however I started to get really scared for no reason( I was never scared of much including the dark as I child) but here is me lying in bed sweating, rigid and petrified that something was in the room with me, watching me.This carried on for a number of weeks until I started feeling something touching my hair and moving my pillow.I was so scared I couldn't shout out to my parents or move at all.One night it happened and somehow I mustered the courage to leap from my bed( which was pretty high) and reached my bedroom door in one giant leap.I pretty much flew down the stairs to get my parents but for some reason I turned to look back up the stairs and I **** you not there was a black cloaked figure staring down at me!
I slept with my mum and dad for at least a fortnight.

Another incident involved me hearing whispering coming from the corner of my room, I ran outside into the hall to bump into my little brother who was also hearing whispering.my dad came up the stairs and had a look around before telling us to stop being silly and to go back to bed.

Couple of years ago when talking to my mum about my childhood she informed me ss soldiers and there families used to live in the same houses on our estate, she told me she had hated the house and that there was something not right about it and that a few weird things had happened to her too.

In 2007 I went trekking to Nepal along with a buddy of mine. I was there for 3 weeks and had a blast. The Himalayas looked amazing. But one incident stood out.

We were staying way out in the boonies in a little hut mounted on stilts. It was my buddy and another couple. At about 2300hrs everyone was asleep but I couldnt so I went outside for a walk.

You havent seen a night sky like you get em in the Himalayas. I stood there spellbound...u think youre in a spaceship...the sky is white with stars with the Milky Way arcing right across. Amazing sight. So I settled down in a deck chair with jacket on to star-gaze along with a flask of tea. Spotted satellites and stuff. Good fun.

I happened to look to my left and saw what appeared to be 10-15 "stars" moving in formation...not very bright. I stood up to watch thinking it was the ISS (lol) but then realized this was *just above the treetops*

They were not stars. It was a big white object..the size of a small bus...shaped kinda like a boomerang. It was very thin as well. Heres the kicker - it was SOUNDLESS and I could see stars THROUGH it. It noiselessly flitted past me flying dead straight.

Wonder soon turned to fright and I hid under the house behind one of the stilts as it vanished into the distance. I ran upstairs and grabbed one of the guides rifles (nothing serious just a .22 pop gun lol) and went outside again. Dont ask me what possesed me to do this. I loaded the thing and looked up at the sky again - it was dead quiet apart from the odd forest noises of insects and the odd bird. I scanned the sky in all directions wondering if I was seeing things...was it altitude sickness? I turn and the thing is coming straight towards my position even *LOWER* above the tree tops. That was too much and I ran inside rifle and all and woke everyone up.

We all tramped outside and not surprisingly they all took the **** out of me but I swore I was telling the truth and slowly they saw the expression on my face and knew I was not kidding. Using a flashlight to show them I drew it in the soil trying to describe it.

At that moment our guide hollered in Nepali and I killed the flashlight and we looked up to where he was pointing with his stick.

And there it was...lower...slower, coming towards us. Completely silently. *Not* diving at us...still flying straight and level but pointed at our position.

We ran. Oh how we ran and locked the door quivering. Nothing else happened. We were shaken for the next 3 days or so but got back to enjoying Nepal. That incident has made me ask myself a lot of questions - we THINK we know it all sometimes...until something like this happens.

Since then whenever Im out alone at night I look up just to kinda check. That spooky feeling has never left me.

Being home alone with all the doors locked, only to come downstairs and find the back door open and my fence broken.

Scared me a lot.

Whoever posted the link to that cave story, I hate you. I got to the part where they decided to go back down and my knee clicked, then I heard a THUMP and just **** myself and X'd out.

May finish tomorrow, currently watching My Little Pony to stop being paranoid.

I had a dream last night about skeleton pirates, does that count?

Also recorded this the other night, I dunno what's making the chair move like that, maybe a draft?

I will hate you forever for that  I've been reading this forum and creepy stories all day (productive day, I know!) and I very nearly died of a heart attack. Those videos NEVER scare me. I think it may be time to stop reading this thread now, I obviously can't take it.

Ahahahahahaha :D

I am lucky enough to have never had a truly terrifying experience, today excluded considering absolutely every single noise is freaking me out after devoting far too much time to this thread and the cave story (despite now finding out it isn't true).

I do have a ouija board story though. When I was about 10, a group of girls in my class were messing around with one during our morning break. Later that day at lunch time, some of the boys were playing football on the school field as always and the ball had rolled down one of the banks near the railings. One of the lads went to get it back and somehow stood on a nail which went right through his shoe, foot and up out of the top of his foot *shudder* very unpleasant. He had to be carried away by a teacher and was rushed to hospital.

One of the girls was hysterical; the board had apparently told them earlier that this boy was going to die.

12 years later and he's still alive, but I still wouldn't mess with one. I can't even deal with the rocking chair video apparently

Well my mum dreamt of a friend last week whom she had not seen for 20yrs since she moved to Florida, got a Facebook message today from a mutual friend (not FB friends until today though) whom she hasn't spoken to in about 14 years to say the one in Florida had died that same day, asleep at the wheel and ran into a semi after a late shift at Hospital.

I have a few to share and many more but I don't want to sit and type everything, I've had a few scary moments in life myself, the most scariest for me was when we moved house and I woke up during the night and was convinced I saw a slightly older teenager standing by the door looking with a blank expression(I was about 12 at the time) and then my mum went to one of those tell me all women and she goes 'tell daniel that brian likes his new room and he spends most of his time there now' brian is the name of a kid my father had in a past relationship that was hit by a car and killed on the spot when he was 14 and I vaugly remember him but scary times eh ?

One night when I was about 10-11 my mum couldn't sleep... I got up and went into the living room and there she was with a blank expression on her face. I asked her what was wrong she said nothing but I could see fear in her eyes so I persisted to bug her about it and then she goes off into her room and gets changed frmo her night gown into clothes and apepars back fully clothed at like 3 am! I thought to msyelf oh no shes going skitso then we hear a voice shouting, she runs to the window looks out the back and my grandad (grandparents stayed durectly across from us) so there goes my mum off like a shot. My dad gets up and goes over... next minute ambulance appears and my nan was being brought out now at this point im looking out the window not compeltely understanding what was going on then they put he rin the ambulance and do before you know it I see them doing that last resort ting where they have the 2 electric shock thingys (dont know the name of them or anything but that was freaky enough seeing it) she passed awya on the spot.

The part thats scary is she was fit as a fiddle constantly going out to the bingo etc and for some odd reason that one night at that time my mum cudn't sleep with worry and you could see fear in her eyes was crazy but wait for it theres more!

Few weeks goes by and I was in the grandparents house with my grandad. I was spending time wiht him as he never really coped too well with losing his wife after an extremely long time and he would do things like put 2 cups beside the kettle when he was making tea instead of jsut 1 for himself forgetting she wasn't there but anyways I was sitting with him and he had just made me a cup of tea (superb tea maker) and of course he had left an exra cup out... few seconds after he brings the tea back the kettle switch goes on and there was a rattling noise like spoons cluttering in the wash bason.... at that point he got up and said to me 'I forgot nans tea' I nearly poo'd my pants!

I was stopped a few months ago by a stranger whilst at work (I work outside btw) and he said to me 'Daniel if I was you I'd change your mind' and then started walking off whilst im left there confused as to how he knows my name and I didn't know what he meant... at the end of the day I get home and im sitting down to dinner and my nephew goes 'nana tell uncle daniel about that man today' she goes 'yeh some guy stopped us in town today whilst we were at the shops and warned me not to let you get a motorbike cos it would be what killed you wether it would be now or later down the line it will be the cause of my death' funny thing is I actually wanted a bike up until that point and the night before I had ana rguement wiht my mother about it as shes always been one to panic.

btw iv always said that we are not alone! lol things like that ^ really make me wonder

btw also I have to post this as I forgot... the same women my mum went to see asked my mother to leave the room so she did and an hour later she asked my mum to come back in and again she did so. This time tho she had a full a4 drawing portrait of boy 'brian' she mentioned beforehand and I swear it was identical! she showed my father and he didn't know what to say thats how amazing it was and I have never understood how that women managed it. Theres no explination

When I was young around 9 prob. I was on the back of my uncle's parked big rig, the fridge came on I leaped of the back & ran the fastest I ever ran to the house.

Now that I've read more, I've remembered a couple of personal experiences that although bothered me at the time, obviously weren't that important to me as I'd completely forgotten!

I remember when I was around 7, I dreamt that I was in the living room and I heard someone breaking in. I hid behind the sofa and a burglar came in. After he had stuffed a few things into a bag, he sat down and for some reason I was peeking out from behind the sofa and he suddenly made eye contact with me and I woke up.

A week or so later, our house was burgled. I think a total coincidence but was still odd and thankfully it was not in the same circumstances - I was asleep in bed and not cowering behind the sofa!

Another time when I was around 14, I remember as I was drifting off to sleep I suddenly had this weird moment when I felt that there were spiders all over me and then started thinking about someone, an unknown person, being dead. I managed to get to sleep, and when I woke up in the morning I saw a spider on one of my curtains right by my bed. This freaked me out, not so much because of the spider thing the night before but because I hate spiders!

Later that day, my mum called me to tell me that my dad's great aunt had died (I've never met her and actually until then didn't even know my dad had any great aunts who were still alive). Again probably coincidental but still felt a bit weird.

I work in a petrol station at the moment as a sales assistant, usually until 11pm by myself then I lock up and set the alarm. Last year I dreamt that a few men came into the petrol station, came behind the till area and opened up the door of a little safe below the second till next to me and started taking out some of the money kept in there. We didn't have a safe there so I put it down to another silly dream. I've had several about being robbed in the petrol station but have always put it down to a slight concern I've always had about something happening considering I work by myself, and the fact that at another petrol station I used to work at we had protective glass and a locked staff door so no one could get behind the tills but I don't have that now.

Anyway soon after this dream we had a mini safe fitted at work under the 2nd till  which we use to put a box of coins in so if we run out of change we can use that. Nothing has happened so far and I don't think it will but it was very, very strange...

It's freaked me out even more considering the first one happened at the age of 7, the 2nd at 14 and the 3rd at 21! lol. I'll know for sure something weird is going on if I have a similar type of dream at the age of 28! However, if all I have predicted in my latest dream is a mini safe being fitted at work, I think I may be losing my touch!
