What is the creepiest thing to have ever happened to you?

I had one about 4 years ago when i was at secondary school. I think i got into a routine e.g. get up have a shower get dressed make breakfast do teeth and go to school. Then one morning i woke up dressed completly in my school uniform with my shoes on and i have no idea how it happened! I went to sleep wearing something completly different then woke up in my school clothes. I went downstairs and there was some toast in the toaster that was stone cold, my school bag was by the door and everything was like i normally did. I asked my mum if she heard anything in the night and apparently she heard nothing?

Strange times

Was your bum sore?

This was posted on these forums a few years ago, but it's well worth a read (even if it's most likely fiction). Basically a caving journal some guy makes about his journey into a cave and the subsequent bizarre and creepy discoveries that follow.

You little champion, I've been trying to remember that link for about a month now. :D

Fell asleep on my hand. When I woke up in the morning and tried to open the door I found that I had no fingers. I looked at my hand and it was swollen. I could not feel my fingers.

It felt as if I clenched my hand into a fist with 5 fingers randomly pointing out of the fist since I couldn't feel the fingers.

It was not supernatural and it's about as crazy as my life got...I have a boring life :(

well mines not really creepy but i'll tell you anyways.

i always visited my girlfriend while she lived in scarborough and her uni flat was about 3 stories up and i used to park my car on the other side of the building.

anyways, im a really light sleeper and one night my girlfriend starts talking in her sleep and wakes me up and i asked what she said (still half asleep myself), "theyre scratching your car". i replied who are? "3 men" i asked how do you know and my girlfriend woke up abit with the startled, "what?"

anyways, being abit paranoid i take a look at the car, just as i open the front door, 3 lads are running up the street, i proceed to check the car and behold, a big key scratch along the back door!.

pretty wierd tbh

Really enjoying this thread. Thought i'd my own little experience...

This happened around 6 or 7 years ago. We were watching a Derren Brown show where he was doing a Ouija board and encouraged people at home to join in and possibly phone in if anything came of it.
Me and my girlfriend (now wife) sat on my wooden bedroom floor and laid out the numbers, letters and glass. We followed his instructions and did the usual 'is anyone there' and 'give us a sign' type questions. Gave it a a couple goes eagerly awaiting for the glass to move/a mirror to shatter/the world to end though nothing happened. We went to bed as usual and that was that.

Fast forward to the following evening. I had been round a friends house and returned home at around midnight. My parents would go to bed at around 11 and Mother would always leave the hall lights, landing light and my bedroom light on for me for when i returned home. I approached the front door and the house was in darkness which i thought a bit strange, though carried on and usual. I went in and stood at bottom of the stairs, the landing was dark except there was a dim glow coming from my bedroom. Still not thinking much of it i walked upstairs and into my room. I had wardrobes with frosted glass fronts, one of which had a light inside. I'd had them for a few years and maybe used the inside light once. A bit strange i thought, though turned it off and went to bed as usual.

I woke up the next day and mentioned this to mum and asked why she had turned all the lights of and gone inside the wardrobe. She was a little puzzled and told me she went to bed as usual and left the usual 3 house lights switched on for me and hadn't touched the wardrobe.

That night my girlfriend stayed round. During the night she woke me up (she's a very light sleeper) - The wardrobe light was on. She got out of bed and switched it off and we both went back to sleep. This happened a further 4 times during that night.

There's no explanation why the light came on, or why the house lights were switched off that first night. The light never came on by itself again after that night.

One thing to add... My nan lived with us for the last few months of her life and died in the back bedroom of our house a few months before this incident.

A few years on my brother-in-law had a brain tumour and like my nan he also spent his last days in the same back bedroom before dying there. When i now visit with my dogs, they like to roam around the house sniffing and the like, though they will often be found just stood in that back bedroom barking at 'something'. My dogs are generally chilled and only really bark of they see a cat in their garden or similar and would never bark for no reason in the house.

My dad spent a night in the back bedroom around a year ago with my young nephew and said it was the worst night's sleep of his life. He couldn't quite explain it and my conversation with him about it is a bit vague now, though he said he'd never spend a night in that room again.

Since my brother-in-law's death my mum has had a couple strange experiences such as someone breathing on her face whilst she was in bed and someone/thing brushing past her while the house was empty.

Make of all that what you will. I do have another story from from my mum which i'll share at some point.

A bit strange and this really freaked me out but here you go,

Last saturday night I had been out in town clubbing & drinking, got home went to sleep and the next morning I remember that for some random reason, I had a dream that I was drinking in this pub which turned out to be the local pub for my mum's ex's brother and I went up to the landlord to ask if the bloke who I knew from round here was still living in the area, just as the landlord was about to reply - the bloke who I knew rushed in and said hello to me, that's all I could remember about the dream.

Thinking nothing of it and fast forward to that following evening, my mum gets a text message from my sister and basically she has heard from her mate that this said bloke in my dream had died the previous day!

I've never experienced anything like that in my life, ever. That really left me stunned for the best part of the rest of that evening.

Nothing has really happened to me apart from seeing something bright flying in the sky in a way that isn't possible when I was about 11 with a friend.

Mate of mine had a real freaky episode in his early teens when he was supposedly possessed, his brother saw the reflection of some demon thing rather than his brother, whole shpiel with exorcism and whatnot. Possibly bs, but his whole family corroborates it.

As an side, pulled an ace practical joke on my friend. I created an mp3 with undecipherable whispering followed by a few second pause and then the big scream from that scary maze game trick, then set it as the windows shut down sound on my friend's computer. Took about a week and a half (he usually turns his speaker off before shutting down) before it got him. :D

My boyfriend told me a couple of freaky stories today.

When he was a kid, he was at his friend's house and the radio came on and the volume started fluctuating - going louder then quieter etc, and he is sure he remembers actually seeing the volume dial moving

At a later date in the same house, his friend's dad had put a chip pan on in the kitchen and fell asleep in the living room. As the pan was left it ended up setting fire to the kitchen, then suddenly he felt like he was shaken awake by someone (depite no one else being in the house at the time!), realised there was a fire and managed to get out.

When he went back into the house with the firemen afterwards, there were dirty footprints on the CEILING! *shudder*

Apparently his friend's dad thinks it was his late father looking out for him so is at least able to take comfort from it.

This was about 15 years ago in 1996 I was staying in Pakistan and me, my bro and cousin were sleeping on the same bed. We couldn't sleep so started talking about stuff in one of the walls were three large empty circles curved into the wall, like port holes in a ship.

All of a sudden, a large flaming ball with a tail behind it swerved in and out of all 3 holes and then suddenly disappeared into the wall. The next morning we told everybody else, apparently in that room about 15 years before we stayed in it a fire happened, the stuff inside the room was gutted but on the top of the ceiling was a photo or something with some weird writing on it. Not sure about this photo/writing thing I'll have to ask my Mom about it again.

The fireball wasn't scary but it did freak us out.

Not my own story but my Mum told me when I was younger because she got really angry and upset with me talking about a friend at school who brought a weegie board to school.

My Mum and her best friend played around with a weegie board for fun and it spelled out the name of her best friends Dad. And the next Day he died of a heart attack.

I really enjoyed this thread last night, thank you all - things are much creepier when they happen to people you can identify with!
